Disclaimer:

This is not an official support site. It is not affiliated in any way with Robert Deutsch (a.k.a. "Dr. Dungeon"), the author of these fine games. I found that there were no Web sites devoted to these games and only Ultizurk 3 was available via FTP, so I decided to remedy the situation, make the games available as best I could, and to offer a source for hints and cheats (for all you cheaters out there). As the sign says, it is under construction. I plan to update it from time to time as I get more information or if new games are released. (For example, I haven't even written all of the help files yet. I may later include on-line help in a Web format similar to that of UHS (Universal Hint System) files.

What are these games?

The Ultizurk games are a series of terrific shareware role-playing games (RPGs) with the basic look-and-feel of the Ultima commercially- released games. They are DOS-based games, but I've had no problems running them under Windows 95. They actually load faster in Win95 than when I boot into regular DOS. I recommend they be played in the order shown here. Why? These games build on each other. They contain references to non-player characters (NPCs) and events that took place in previous games. The plot for each game builds on that of the previous one. The author hasn't just written games, he's created a whole world!

Shareware:

These games are shareware. They are fully complete, uncrippled, playable and winnable games. Registration of each shareware game brings you a second part. I'm not positive, but I think Ultizurk II is actually Ultizurk I's second part, and so on. Part 2 of Ultizurk III is called The Mobius Mind. I haven't seen it released as shareware, so you'll have to register UZ III to get it. Registration is fairly inexpensive, too. I've seen various offers, such as $19.95 for the first three games, and $17 for UZ III. The author gives his name, address and phone number in the documentation. Please contact him for the latest registration info and prices.

Individual Games:

As I mentioned above, I recommend playing these games in the order shown here.

  • Ultizurk I: The Grandmaster's Quest
  • Ultizurk II: The Shadow Master
  • The Great Ultizurkian Underland
  • Ultizurk III: The Guildmaster's Quest
  • Ultizurk IV: Lord of the Cyclops
  • Wraith
  • Madman
  • They can be FTPd from these Web pages, or from ftp.cdrom.com, in the directory pub/games/incoming.
