After forty years, I am clear of it. I want to share the good news with you how I did it. Hi, my name is Don Sipler and I like you have psoriasis. Or, as I like to say now, I used to have the symptoms of this heart breaking condition. I'm 60 years old, not a doctor or a scientist, actually I'm an adult education instructor/writer who used a logical approach to medical research over a six year period with a determination to end my own redness, swelling, and flaking patches that, since age 18, had progressively spread over 50% of my body surface. Most recently I have added a new dietary supplement CoQ10. There is hope. Questions and Answers Is this a cure for Psoriasis? Cure, I can't go as far as that claim. From the more than fifty people I've talked to via email who have tried this the majority have had good results. How does it work? The regimen I describe increases Vitamin B12 and Folic Acid and CoQ10 in the blood. My theory, based on published research in other diseases, is that this may eliminate a cause of Psoriasis. B12 and CoQ10 deficiency may be caused by a disfunction in the digestive system or a genetic predisposition. When this exists, it blocks the absorption of B12/Folic Acid and CoQ10, important DNA building blocks in areas of rapid proliferation of cells. When this happens our own immune system attacks weakened cells causing inflamation that triggers a never ending healing cycle of scaling. How long does it take to be clear? The response varies from one individual to another, depending on the severity and length of time you have had it. A change to lighter and less flaking is usually seen in 2 to 3 weeks. I and others saw very positive clearing in two months and significantly more clearing in six months. What about after it is cleared. Regular maintenance will be necessary as any small occurances reappear. If you catch these small red spots when they first appear they clear up quickly. This is very important What is CoQ10? CoQ10 is similar to a vitamin. It is a coenzyme that works with B vitamins to strengthen the immune system and produce energy in the cells to ward off inflamation. CoQ10 is non toxic and has no none side effects. What if it doesn't work for me? I make no guarantees. This is strictly one friend telling another friend what I did to rid myself of the symptoms of cronic psoriasis. Do I have to buy something from you? No, I have nothing to sell, I have no affiliation with any drug or, equipment companies, or associations of any kind, and I have no literature or books to sell. What do you get out of this? It has been estimated as many as 1% of the population of the world has some symptoms of psoriasis. The National Psoriasis Foundation states, the cause of psoriasis is not known and there is no known cure. I believe together with what we learn here, medical research will be encouraged to place a new emphasis on testing, prevention, and treatment of this condition. So, what is it you used? The treatment is nutritional supplements and common skin medications, I have bought over the counter in regular drug or health food stores at reasonable cost. The dosages will not exceed those recommended on the package. The details are below. What if I can't find the vitamins you recommend? There is a toll free phone number in the U.S. and a web site for international where they can be ordered. I found these to be very effective through a great deal of research, testing, trial, error and expense. You will see a link to the NPF web site as well as a link to our Psoriasis News Group where much of the trials of this treatment have been and continue to be done. You are welcome to join in, meet some fine people who all share a common goal of clearing themselves and sharing information with others. Also, please let me know how I might improve this web page. |

HERE IS WHAT I DID TO END MY PSORIASIS I used a two phase approach. #1 I took vitamin B12 1000mcg sublingual liquid (B Total brand can be ordered at 1 800 700 0770 $11.95)or outside U.S. at http://www.worlddrugstore.com and Folic Acid 800mcg (any good brand, at drug stores, $3.00 100 pills )once a day for six weeks. Or until large amounts of flaking comes loose. I used oil in a bath to help it along once it started. Avoid scratching or picking, remember, let the skin heal. In two to three weeks the areas of the skin should be lighter in color, flatter and less flaking. Continue the daily B/Folic. #2 To speed the healing, I then used a coal tar preparation (Brand MG217 Ointment at drug stores $8.95) on the areas of the skin once a day every night, agressively brush off flakes so they do not block the absorption of the lotion. It's smelly so I shower it off in the morning before going to work. This is also good because it allows the skin to breathe and continue healing between applications. In aprox. 1.5 weeks the lesions begin to fade. I reduced the B12 and Folic Acid to every other day and on alternate days I take Zinc, vitamin A and D tablets to strengthen the skin and promote healing and continued with the coal tar ointment. In three weeks from beginning with the lotion the redness and flaking was reduced in area 75%. In a total of 4 months from the beginning only tiny bumps were still there and light pink or bluish scaring remained but continued to fade. At this point I began getting outside in shorts to get some sun, which also speeds healing. In six months I was 99.9% clear. Recently I have been taking CoQ10 100mg capsule each day. CoQ10 or sometimes called Coenzyme Q10 or NADH is a yellowish powder usually in capsule form, it is manufactured by many different companies and is available nearly everywhere vitamins are sold. My few remaining small spots shrunk to gone in two weeks without any use of the MG217. I would begin day one with the B12/Folic Acid and the CoQ10 in the dosages I mentioned each day This is not magic, it takes work and developing a regular routine not missing a day of treatment. Important I continue (two years later) with a maintenance regimen of 100mg CoQ10 daily and checking my self at least twice a week for any tiny beginnings of new red marks. When I find any I agressively remove the scale and treat them with the MG217 ointment and they clear to normal skin rather quickly. This is the basic process. If you have any difficulty understanding any of this material or have any further questions please don't hesitate to contact me. I will be more than happy to answer your email as quickly and honestly as I can. My Best Regards Don Sipler---UPDATED 09/30/99 |
