Star Trek: Voyager displays not only some of the most impressive special effects on television, but also award-winning hair styling as well.

The First Annual Hollywood Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist Guild Awards (TM) were held last night and Star Trek: Voyager was honored with two awards.

In the category of Best Character Hair Styling - Television (For a Single Episode of a Regular Series - Sitcom, Drama or Daytime), stylists Josee Normand, Charlotte Parker and Gloria Montemeyor took home the award for the episode "Bride of Chaotica."

The same Star Trek: Voyager team also took the award for Best Innovative Hair Styling - Television (For a Single Episode of a Regular Series - Sitcom, Drama or Daytime), for the episode "Dragon's Teeth."

Also handed out at the black-tie ceremony held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel was the George Westmore Lifetime Achievement Award. The prestigious award went to Monty Westmore, who has overseen makeup for over a hundred films over sixty years, including "Star Trek: First Contact."

Monty Westmore is the older brother of current Star Trek: Voyager makeup artist Michael Westmore, both are grandchildren of the Lifetime Achievement Award's namesake, the legendary George Westmore.
