The Team
Tricia "Kazi
Wren" Harris - Site Director and Staff Writer
Kazi Wren, known (and feared) as the Dark Mistress of Spookhouse
and Ragnarok, comes to us
from the world of mainstream journalism. Having worked for
some large-ass daily newspapers, she's got that "reporter
thing" going on. Her job is to lure unsuspecting developers
into her lair of sin -- in this case, the 3DActionPlanet.
Kazi mainly conducts interviews for the site as well as for
GameSpy.com. You can contact her at anytime...just don't ask
about her collection of whips and chains. Trust us.
Jamie "Thrrrpptt"
Madigan - Lead Genre Producer and Contributing
Writer
Jamie "Thrrrpptt!" Madigan is a full time employee of GameSpy
Industries. He acts as a general contributor for 3dActionPlanet,
writing articles, reviews, previews, editorials, and bizzare
humor pieces that only a few people really get (the rest just
laugh so they don't look unsophisticated). He has written
computer game strategy guides for GW Press, and has also written
an online Quake 2 strategy
guide for PlanetQuake. As Lead Genre Producer, it's Thrrrpptt's
job to make sure all of GameSpy's sites are happy.
Caryn
"Hellchick" Law - Action Genre Producer and Contributing
Writer
After finally getting her bachelor's degree in astronomy and
astrophysics, Hellchick mysteriously found herself writing
for the gaming industry. Though she'd been playing Quake for
a couple of years, it never occured to her that you could
make a living doing that sort of thing. And so, armed only
with a computer, her bass guitar, and a misguided sense of
creativity, she showed up on the doorstep of GameSpy Industries,
begging them to take her in. When it was clear to them that
she wouldn't leave until they gave her a job, they caved and
let her run PlanetQuake
for a while, and then moved her up to become the Action Genre
Producer after she wrestled Thrrrpptt! for the job in bloody
combat. Oh, and she also really, REALLY likes antelope.
Dustin "Silencer"
Roberts - Staff Writer
Silencer contributes to 3DAP whenever he gets time. When not
playing games, he attempts to live a somewhat "typical" life,
involving school (majoring in computer science, for now),
work (boring-ass banking job...pays the bills tho), and playing
bass in a band. If the staff's writing skills don't make 3DAP
famous, maybe Silencer's band will...
Eduardo "Root"
Renteria - News Hound and Staff Writer
Said to have been trained by the Colombian intelligence agency,
Root comes to us with low credentials and a bag of industrial-size
coffee. He has also been reported to type away at his computer
for hours on end without direct contact to the outside--what
is he writing you ask? Well, we may never find out, but what
can be assured is that some of that feverish writing will
end up here at 3DAP--whether that is a good thing or a bad
thing will be up to you. While visiting the outside (namely
the room in his abode that has a window), Root likes to catch
up on a little Half-Life, and an occasional hint of Quake--a
mix that Root claims is, "a supub comnimation."
Francesco
"Warzone" Poli - Staff Writer
I write tendentially long and polemic editorials, long and
thorough reviews, and I've even tried my hand at interviewing
(with mediocre results, I'm afraid). I'm also a novelist by
night, authoring the everlasting Flamin' Llamas, buried somewhere
in the forums, and the Half-Life
Novelization Project, but this is getting out of topic...Well,
I do all I can for the site within time constraints, really.
Frank "AutoMag"
McGee - News Hound
A 40-something avid gamer for well over 20 years, AutoMag
lives in South Carolina, USA. He posts the news at 3DAP and
various other GameSpy sites. Without his quick reflexes and
dedication, the rest of us at 3DAP would actually have to
work harder (God bless you, AutoMag).
Jonathan
"The Grape" Wu - Editorials Team Head
Jon The Grape is head of a small band of editorial geniuses,
formerly known as the Grape's Thoughts team. Their job at
3dActionPlanet is to bring you editorials. Editorials are
slightly different to articles in that they are more focused
on the writer's opinion and are usually written from one point
of view. Whatever, they write lots of them, so get used to
it.
Matt "ObeseWhale"
Grinshpun - Staff Writer
ObeseWhale joined 3DActionPlanet as a complement to his job
running The Darker Sector.
A Linux freak who hopes to one day rise to the status of a
game programmer himself, ObeseWhale provides an entertaining
insight on a variety of topics.
Matt "Mr.
Spook" Wier - Staff Writer
"Cold. Daring. No flies on me." Mr. Spook has been gaming
since the days of Pong and Computer Space. When not playing
games or listening to Steely Dan and the Grateful Dead, Matt
is a tiny cog in a huge, faceless corporation where he anonymously
posts subversive messages on the corporate intranet and leaves
disturbing photographs in the break room. Matt brings his
expertise as a gamer and technical writer to 3D Action Planet
where he contributes reviews, first looks and other general
content.
Mike "Missionyrd"
Weber - Staff Writer
Missionyrd is your not your regular news hound. He will throw
up tidbits of new information so fast your head will spin.
When not slaving over news and other "web stuff" you can find
him bodyboarding or snowboarding depending on the time of
the year. Oh yea, he likes to do that thing people call "gaming"
as well, he can play a mean game of Battlezone.
Ryan "SonicStorm"
Foote - Staff Writer
Mad gamer by day and uh...mad gamer by night, Sonic is
the Site Director of Battleground:
Halo. When not kicking Silencer's ass at Counter-Strike,
he's just kicking other people's asses. He doesn't write editorials
very well, so if you read a crappy one, it was probably done
by him (or The Grape, either one).
