    REVIEW:
Lean hog futures ended mixed after pulling below highs hit earlier in
the day. Apr through Jly hit 2 1/2-week tops, and Apr and Jun ended higher on
the day on cash-connected buying while Jly dipped to a modest loss.
The nearbys ended higher despite larger-than-expected slaughter.
Analysts expect this week's slaughter to total about 1.935 million head, which
would be the largest since the middle of January.
/TX      Early cash-connected purchases in Apr and Jun touched off technical
buying as these months broke through chart resistance points. The Goldman roll
began early in lean hogs, pressuring Apr while strengthening Jun.
                  (. . .) _1107:
Lean hogs held early gains after gapping to 2 1/2-week highs on the
open. Jun lead the stronger months as spreaders prepared for next week's rolling
of long positions out of Apr and into that month. Cargill was an Apr buyer and
