I like to watch reruns of inspirational TV shows like Little House on the Prairie, The Waltons or Alice. Then after it's over I draw pictures of the characters on felt, cut them out and act out the most poignant scenes. This really brings me down to earth.

About once a month or so I gather the children together just before dinner, I announce to them that their Daddy was in a terrible accident and isn't coming home anymore. I wait until their grief is spent and then tell them I'm joking. We then discuss how horrible it would be if it were true. It brings us closer together as a family

Whenever I am waiting for a bus, I hold my breath until I start to lose consciousness. It is the only way I can come close to experiencing dying, thus enhancing the living experience. It also makes good use of down time.
