That question will be decided in a landmark case to be argued in the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans on Thursday, June 8th, involving a local resident, Peter Veeck of Denison, who posted local building codes written by the Southern Building Codes Congress, Intl. (SBCCI) on his community service website. SBCCI claimed such publication violated its copyright. SBCCI prevailed in the U.S. District Court suit tried in Texarkana. Mr. Veeck appealed. access pops save Denison were upgraded with firmware supplied by Lucent Technologies
(Bell Labs) and now fully support the interim V.90 specification, including
both the 1 megabyte and 2 megabyte versions of the Rockwell chipset. The Denison
pop remains equipped with USR Total Control equipment for support of the older V.32
and V.34 (up to 33.6Kbps) protocols.
