Nature Tours and Safaris

Ecologically-oriented nature tours and safaris are our specialty, hence we cater to the serious nature-lover (including birders, amateur naturalists, wildlife photographers and the like). We are a small subsidiary under the GECCon banner. Some of our tours may have a special emphasis, such as bird-watching, botany, big game or fish photography, etc.

Our tours are led by qualified biologists/ecologists with specific knowledge of the tour itinerary, region and relevant fauna/flora/ecology. We use local qualified guides when possible. Our range of offerings is purposely limited to itineraries we think we do especially well; we may expand these offerings in the future. All our tours require some level of fitness, as some hiking or other exercise is always involved, though specific tour requirements vary. Group size is usually 10-21 people, to optimize comfort and costs. Accommodations are generally mid-range, but in some places there is no choice, so some lodgings on specialist itineraries may be substantially above or below par.

Tours are set up according to demand; not all listed tours may go in a given year, and some tours may be listed on a tentative basis, pending sufficient interest. Occasionally tours may be arranged and/or led for other organizations.

Between them, our associate leaders have extensive experience in the field and in tour guiding all over the world. We are also open to suggestions: if you have a dream itinerary in mind that no-one currently offers, we'll look into it and run it if feasible. We try for unique itineraries and experiences! You can e-mail us via the form below or at the following: junglej@ultra.net.au, OR junglej@mother.com.

The Photos: All photos in these pages are copyright of the respective photographers, i.e. they may not be used commercially/publicly for any purpose without written permission from the owner (private use is ok). We generally use photos taken by our leaders or tour participants on our tour itineraries (occasionally we may substitute where necessary, especially for new itineraries). All photos in current pages by Rolf Jensen, except for Peru (macaws) by Monte Kirven.

How it Works

Click any of the listed tours for more information. Then e-mail us for outline itinerary of tour you wish to take; this will be e-mailed to you. Detailed itineraries and update newsletters will be sent to participants on payment of deposit. Newletters will detail payment schedules, visa, health, reference literature and other relevant information.

Tour costs, in U.S. dollars, are generally 'land costs' in destination country only (including internal flights where applicable), twin-share/double accommodation basis. Usually, you must arrange your own air tickets to the tour start city. Sometimes group travel may be coordinated from a specific originating city or cities outside of the tour destination country.

Do not send financial information such as credit card number by regular e-mail. We will inform you of payment options.
