Well, first of all, the Encyclopedia Nornica is just a cob, in a, guess what? That's right, a game.. I knew you could do it..

If my 'mommy' beat the living daylights out of me now, I'd feel pretty silly.. Back when I was small enough for her to do so, I'm sure I deserved it each and everytime.. Thing is, I wasn't a character in a computer game back then.. If I were a Norn however, I wouldn't feel anything at all.. I'm not sure if you've gotten this through your thick skull yet, but Creatures is a GAME.. The Norns aren't alive, they don't feel anything, they don't cry, they don't miss you when you turn off the computer..

Now then, if I *were* being beat up in front of my friends, I don't think I'd have much chance to feel anything at all, since "Friends" will jump in and help out.. I know my friends would.. I'd hope yours would, but since you thought up this little scenario, I'm guessing they wouldn't.. Some friends you have..

We all know who it would be trying to beat me up though, don't we? It would be yet another one of you sickos who can't tell the difference between fantasy and reality..

Which "pollution" are you talking about? The pollution caused by all these sites which trick young people such as yourself into believing that characters in a computer game are living, breathing, sentient animals?

Btw, yes.. I left the email address off of this one because the writer identified him/herself as being under 13.. I'm not sure how that 'under 13' privacy law thing works, but I thought I'd play it safe.. Plus, I don't need more irate parents flaming me because thier brain-damaged child can't tell reality from fantasy..

Sorry about the lack of updates, there's been some CGI and FTP problems... Anyway, there's a brand new Forum... I got sick of InsideTheWeb, it was pure crap.. The new one may be strange to some of you at first, but you'll get used to it.. The biggest benefit to all of you is that you'll no longer have to wait for me to view each post prior to posting, plus you can edit your own posts..

Another new section will be coming in a day or two.. Some of you already know what it is, and I'm still awaiting submissions..

Ok.. Lets assume for the moment that this isn't a current or former CL employee.. Why would they contact me with this sort of info?

Then again, if this is a CL employee, again; why would they contact me?

Logic and common sense say this isn't a CL employee.. mainly due to the use of the Yahoo email address... but you could also argue that yahoo is one of the easiest to fool "free email" services out there.. Add to this the fact that nobody has targeted CL in quite a few months and a number of people have left CL recently.. This could lead you to believe that a few former CL employees are pissed off about something...

On top of all of this, you could argue that I made this whole thing up to get hits...

Trust me, it's not something I would do.. If I wanted more hits, I would have taken on another personality and revived the ERFN..

I'm as confused as any of you.. I challenge the person who emailed me to give more proof as to the validity on this email I received...

God.. The Community has been dead lately.. C3 is old news, CL is late with their quarterly "after-release" bug fix/addon, The Genetics kit came out, a whole 6+ weeks after Chris D's own free kit was put out.. Things are stagnant again.. Miff, Ping and R2k attempt at an April Fool's day joke somewhat helped(yes, they fooled me, until Miff let me in on the joke, and unlike a few other people out there, I left my initial reaction online, plus it was a good rant =D).. Pity R2k jumped the gun and released the joke 10 days prior to April Fool's(umm, isn't the point in an April Fools day joke to do it on April 1st?).

Anyway, I thought I'd share my non-wish list for C3d features.

Non-wish list? These are the things I hope NOT to see in C3d:

1. Software-only rendering.. If you've played any game using a 3d engine you know that Software rendering is crap. Please CL, at the very least use Direct3d, giving us the option to use Glide or OpenGL would be nice also.

2. Powerups.. Umm, besides the totally crap original genome, wasn't the powerup feature of C2 the biggest complaint? Why the hell was it put into C3?? Sure, it's fun for about an hour, but due to the aspect of the game, it's forced on players over and over and over and over again.. Get a clue CL..

3. Default language that is cumbersome and annoying.. Do I need to explain this one?

4. Lack of applets.. Considering CL's track record, they'll probably leave these out again, despite the fact that they were the best engine features in C1/2..

5. Norns that look like they were designed for a different game.. Umm, could the Norns in C3 look any more awkward in the world you obviously spent thousands of hours designing?

6. Pointless "gamey" features.. It's supposed to be an Alife simulation, not an adventure game.

7. More of the same old "Grendels are evil" crap.. If you want them to be evil, make them evil.. Don't base their genomes on hardwiring and lobotomized Norn structures..

8. "Pretty" backgrounds/worlds.. The game is called "Creatures" not "Look at how nicely we can draw backgrounds".. We want content, not eye candy.

9. Testing, Testing, Testing.. C'mon. C2 had bogus genomes.. C3 had unfinished Norns.. Is it really that hard to test your own product before it leaves the door?

10. No CLI.. I looooooove the built-in CLI in C3.. Don't screw up and leave it out of C3d.. it's the best thing to happen to the Creatures line-up since Kinnison joined your company..

Ok, I'm done.. For now..

I know CL probably won't even read this, but it's my own personal non-wish list for C3d..

I meant to get the site online last night, but too many Heinekens and too little sleep nailed me before I was done.. Anyway, welcome to the new site. Yes, I know the intro looked like crap. Too bad. You try teaching yourself Flash in a 12-hour period. Btw, It will probably be another year before I remove that animation from the Geocities sever, so if any of you are linking to me or have a bookmark, change them to the new location here. And quit whining about how big the intro is.. you don't even have to watch it if you don't want to..

The site has finally been updated... Ok? You people can quit whining now.. Everything is still pretty much the same; The Forum is still there, the same old Norns are still there, the pics are laying around here somewhere.. The only real changes are some new sections.. The Idiots section is something I've been thinking about for a while; it's going to contain the Navens and morons I encounter on a day-to-day basis in Chat and on AGC, it will also contain examples of why I'm glad the human race is coming to an end... The Doghouse will contain members of our community who've screwed up soooo bad that they deserve to be publicized.. The Rants section is just my day-to-day observations that have no bearing on the Creatures Community.. This main section will contain news which affects everyone in the CC, most of it will be ripped off from HomeCreatures and CreaturesLife... I doubt Miff or Ping will care, since most of you people who visit this site on a daily basis are freaks =D
