If you like this site, please ask your Internet Service Provider (ISP) put a link to it on its Home Page. If you're an old hand, bookmark this page anyway and mail the URL to any Newbies you encounter.

Your account with your Internet service must be set up to use a PPP or SLIP connection when you logon to the service. If your service cannot provide either type, you might want to refer to The List of Internet service providers.

We recommend starting with the Introduction if you are really new to the Internet. It explains how this guide works, and points you to the essentials. You can just dive in and look around if you prefer, especially if you know your way around a bit.
