Deja Vu I & II

January 07, 2000

In the first chapter, you awake in the bathroom and quickly get absorbed into a mystery. In the second chapter, you awake in the bathroom and quickly get absorbed into a mystery. Whoa, Deja Vu! Point-and-click adventures seem pretty silly on today's home consoles. Why have nice looking still pictures when you can have nice looking moving images? The same cannot be said for handhelds. In comparison to other games for Game Boy Color, Deja Vu I & II comes off bright, vibrant, crisp, and of all things, interesting. As Ace Harding, players must wander from room to room, searching, opening, talking, and taking anything they can. The game is heavy on trial-and-error discoveries, often causing you to revert to past saves or start over entirely. If this sounds like something that would frustrate you quickly, avoid it. If you could use a more thought-provoking change of pace on the Game Boy, however, Deja Vu is a good game to check out. - Jay, The Gonzo Gamer
