What is MyZDNet Alerts?
MyZDNet Alerts is a free Windows utility that delivers time-sensitive news, investing and product information directly to your PC.
How does it work?
MyZDNet Alerts updates itself during the day over your Internet connection. The selection of highlights and headlines is drawn from your personalized MyZDNet Web page. Within the Alert, you can define stock price parameters, so you'll be notified when prices jump or sink.
How do I install it?
The utility is small -- about 350KB -- so installation is quick and takes just three steps:
- Click the "Download It Now" link on this page. This will start the file transfer.
- Your browser may ask you where to save the file ZDAlertsInstall.exe -- remember which location you choose. A good place to save is on your Desktop.
Note: If you don't know where the downloaded file was saved, select Find from Windows' Start menu and search for "ZDAlertsInstall".
- Go to the saved-file location and double-click on ZDAlertsInstall.exe. This will install and update MyZDNet Alerts automatically.
When the installation is complete, the MyZDNet Alerts window will open and a small icon will appear in your taskbar. Detailed info about the utility's functions are available by selecting Help from the File menu in the Alert. To view the Help files now, click here.

MyZDNet Alerts keeps you up-to-date on the latest news, stocks, and product info. You can refine your selection by customizing your MyZDNet settings. To do so, choose "Personalize MyZDNet Alerts" from the Personalize menu in the utility.
