Randall Sandoval again demonstrated video on OS/2 running on WinOS2. He also demonstrated several graphic editing programs. His equipment included: a AMD K6/133 with 64MB RAM, 512K Cache, Trident 8960 video card, AceCad graphics tablet, Hitachi camcorder, speakers, 3GB drive.

He demonstrated the capabilities of Adobe Premiere - it's storyboard pasteup metaphor. He compared and contrasted that the the pixel editing per frame capability of Autodesk's Animator Studio. Animator Studio is more flexible in the file formats it can save too. Whereas, Premiere, supports more television like editing and programming features. Premier supports loading of fade/wipe (transition) plug-ins.

Randall also demonstrated a freeware product called Wayfarer. It can replace WinOS2's program manager. It provides more capabilities than Program Manager, in a manner similar to the OS/2 Workplace Shell.

Randall also talked about MetaCreations Dabbler, which although limited in it's import capabilities, is useful for some projects. Finally he demoed TrueSpectra PhotoGraphics - the standard edition. He demonstrated the resolution independence feature that allows for superior editing - without encountering jagged lines & edges at increasing zoom levels.

Randall also demonstrated YAOS - Yet Another OS/2 Shell. Among the more choice features is the near miss - you type in a portion of a directory, and YAOS manages to put you there, without "\"s or even the complete name.

Rich Jacox gave away 2 copies of Avarice. The two winners were Larry Schmitz & RC Thomas. He had a copy of Desktop Observatory, which he will hold on to for a later meeting.
