Mint.com was founded and initially funded by the principals of Mint Investment Management Company LLC ("MINT"). MINT has been in the investment management business since 1981, specializing in developing and implementing quantitative trading strategies for client and proprietary accounts. MINT was created on the foundation of using state-of-the-art technology to make Investment decisions in the financial markets, and has been a recognized specialist in the field of statistical trading, in particular using back-testing and historical strategy analysis. MINT used this technology to increase assets under management to over $1bil.
Mint.com is 43% owned by the Man Group Plc, a publicly-traded financial services company based in London (LSE : EMG), with a market capitalization of over $2bil. The Man Group has over $5bil in assets under management.
Large-scale historical financial data analysis and management presents many significant technical and practical challenges and barriers. Over the past 20+ years, the principals of Mint.com have developed expertise and technology in the area of large-scale financial data management and analysis. Our proprietary database technology allows for speedy retrieval and analysis of large amounts of financial data, as well as a flexible data manipulation language for custom and easy-to-use research and analysis.
Alex Greyserman, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Greyserman has over 12 years of experience in research and development of market analysis tools. Most recently, Alex has served as Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer of MINT. Alex holds a MS (Electrical Engineering) from Columbia University, and a MBA (Finance) and Ph.D. (Statistics) from Rutgers University. His dissertation was focused on Bayesian Decision Theory applications to Portfolio Selection.
David Hall, Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Hall has over 25 years of experience in trading and portfolio administration. Most recently, Dave has served as Chief Operating Officer of MINT, responsible for overseeing the entire trading, operations, systems and administration functions. Previously, Dave was Vice President at Thomson Securities. Mr. Hall holds a degree from the State of University of New York.
Riva Ostacher, Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Ostacher has over 12 years of experience in Finance and Accounting. Most recently, Riva has served as Chief Financial Officer of MINT. Previously, Riva was Senior Staff Accountant for JH Cohn, a public accounting firm. Riva is a CPA and holds a BA in Finance from Rutgers University. Riva is a 2nd degree black belt.
Erik Jacobsen, Ph.D., Chief Technology Officer
Dr Jacobsen has over 10 years of experience in development and implementation of technologies for research and analysis of scientific and financial data. Most recently, Erik has served as Senior Research Analyst for MINT. Erik holds a BA in Physics from Cornell University, and a Ph.D. in Physics from Princeton University.
Board of Directors
Mr. Hite was co-founder of MINT. Larry has over 30 years of experience across various ventures in the financial markets. In 1990, Mr. Hite was profiled in a book "Market Wizards", under the chapter "Respecting Risk". Larry continues to be an avid investor and follower of analytical market research tools.
Peter Matthews, Ph.D.
Dr. Matthews was co-founder of MINT. Peter has over 25 years of experience in the financial markets, mostly focused on the research and development of statistical trading methodologies. Peter obtained his Ph.D. in Statistics from the American University, Washington D.C. He is a former Director of the US Managed Funds Association.
Mr. Delman was co-founder of MINT. Michael has over 20 years of experience in research and development of automated portfolio management systems, having conducted the initial research and development for MINT in the early 1980's. Mr. Delman holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis.
Stanley Fink is Chief Executive Officer of the Man Group Plc (London : EMG). Man Group holds a 43% interest in Mint.com. Stanley's previous role was as a Managing Director of Man Investment Products, the Man Group's Asset Management division, now with over $5bil under management. Mr. Fink is a Chartered Accountant and holds a degree from Cambridge University.
Ira Polk is Executive Vice President of Man Inc., the US subsidiary of the Man Group Plc (London : EMG). Ira has been involved with MINT for a number of years as a member of the Management Committee. Mr. Polk holds an accounting degree from Rutgers University.
