Welcome to TechiesDay 2000!

TechiesDay is a nationwide initiative to address our nation's increasing demand for a qualified technology workforce. TechiesDay supports a long term solution to this challenge by integrating technology career awareness, readiness, and achievement into K-12 classrooms. This initiative also calls for response among corporations, organizations, and individuals to help bring technology to life and inspire young people to pursue the knowledge they need to succeed in technology careers.

On Oct. 3, 2000, local organizations took part in TechiesDay activities across the nation. Over 100 employee recognition and school volunteer events took place on TechiesDay. These local events brought students, educators, and of course, techies together to shine a spotlight on the many opportunities available to students in technology. These events play a huge role in helping to address the workforce development issues facing our country.

TechiesDay thanks all of the students, teachers, technology professionals, corporations, government, and community and industry associations that took part in TechiesDay 2000, and issues the challenge to make TechiesDay 2001 even better!
