Here's some interesting bits of promo items from years gone by, that were donated for the "On the Air" photo album.......Please be patient as these photo will take some time to load in.

A picture of late great morning host of CFDR's Rise & Shine, Gerry Parson (standing far left) beside Gerry is broadcaster Paul Marr, dressed up as  CFDR "Super Snooper" . CFDR had listeners join them, outside their penhouse studios,  for "CFDR's  Breakfast On The Patio" In the background through the glass is the CFDR master control room.. The station was located 18 floors, on top of Dartmouth's Queen Square. This picture was taken in 1983

Here's a bit of history! 790/CFDR reel to reel box cover with the voice tracks of the all night program, Music In The Night" with broadcaster, John Cunningham. CFDR was was located at 790 on the AM band, with a power out put of 5,000 watts. The station was located at 12 Queen Street in Dartmouth.

Back in September 1987, CFDR which at that time broadcast at 680kHz was taking over by a new company, Newcap from Pattersons Broadcasting. What came with the new company was also a new format from easy listening to top 40. The following is an editorial cartoon which appeared in what then was the Dartmouth This Week newspaper.

Nothing like visiting good radio pals and having some pizza! That's what broadcaster Paul Marr did in this picture from 1994. Here's Paul sitting in the master control room of CHNS-AM 960, when it was located at 1313 Barrington Street, Halifax.

From 1986, comes this photo of the on air gang at Halifax's Country 101-CHFX FM. This photo was taken in 1986 and appeared on the back cover of a station's  promotional music album from MCA Records, titled "Our Country Is Super". Notice the on air shifts of the broadcasters.

Here's a CHNS SUPER 60 Chart, the official survey of the most popular songs being played at the time. This chart is for the week of June 5-11th, 1967

Still with CHNS in Halifax, here's a book mark with pictures of some of the jocks that were on the air in 1969. On the flip side is the CHNS official survey for the week of Jan. 31st - Feb. 7th, 1969.

What a way to let your listeners know about your station! The following is the cover of the CFDR's Airwaves Newsletter. At the time CFDR was at 680 on the AM dial and located in Dartmouth . There's no date on this promo item, but I've been told it's could be around 1980. That's the time that CFDR moved into their new home on top of Queen Square, which after three years their sister station CFRQ-Q104 arrived on the air!
