TransGaming Technologies is working to bring your favorite games to Linux by improving the Wine project. TransGaming is creating a full implementation of the Microsoft® DirectX® multimedia APIs on Linux.

Our goal is to achieve 100% compatibility and full performance for off-the-shelf games. We are well on our way to that goal, but our work is still in progress. Due to the nature of the process, some games will begin to work before others. Beginning early in 2001, we will be offering a subscription service to allow you to vote on what games we should concentrate on next.

We believe strongly in the ideas behind the Open Source movement, and we are committed to eventually releasing all of our code under the same license as the rest of the Wine project. At the same time, we believe that there is room for new thinking within the Linux community on how authors should be compensated for their work. For the moment, some - but not all - of our work is being contributed directly back to the Wine community. You can read more about our license policy here.
