Maritime Park Association

The Association is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to maritime preservation and education in order to enhance public understanding, appreciation, & enjoyment of our national maritime heritage. 

The Association supports a wide-ranging program of exhibits, ship preservation, educational programs and publications. We operate the award winning WW II submarine museum and memorial USS Pampanito

In partnership with San Francisco Maritime National Historic Park our activities include: youth education programs aboard the historic ships; Elderhostel programs; support and management of historic ship preservation projects, publishing of journals and newsletters, boat building workshops and classes, management of our maritime stores and ticket sales, and the production of concerts and theater aboard the ships.

National Historical Park

The Park is unit of the National Park Service, located at the West end of Fisherman's Wharf along beautiful San Francisco Bay. The park has one of the largest collections of historic maritime ships in the world, including: 

Balclutha, an 1886 full rigged ship. 
Eureka, an 1890 San Francisco ferry 
Alma, an 1891 scow schooner 
C.A. Thayer, an 1895 lumber schooner 
Hercules, a 1907 ocean tug boat 
Wapama, a 1915 steam schooner 
Eppleton Hall, a 1914 river tug 
and over 100 small craft. 
Ships and ship documents are on display at Hyde Street Pier, the Maritime Museum, and the Maritime Museum Library, which has an extensive library of books, periodicals and graphics devoted to maritime history. The park also preserves, restores and interprets an extensive collection of maritime artifacts, photographs and documents.
