NuWEB is dedicated to BEAM, NuTECH, and other ideas!
You will find here a collection of articles on the subject of BEAM and related ideas.
This page is evolving so changes are frequent and comments are welcome!
My recent foray into BEAM, the wonderful world of low complexity and high utility robots has resulted in a burst of creative ideas
in part to the synergy, which flows, from the BEAM concepts.
BEAM technology is based on the design rule of using the simplest possible electronic and mechanical solutions to complex
problems. This is not crude or primitive simplicity! It's appropriate technology derived from the principle of Occam's Razor to
paraphrase: "the simplest theory, which is sufficient, is the best". The analogy in BEAM design is : "the simplest circuit or
mechanism which is sufficient for the task is the best". This principle applies at all levels with a big payoff: It generates an applied
technology conceptually simple to understand, cheap and easy to build and paradoxically always seems to provide more
functionality than could predicted from using simple designs.
