Located on the SSU campus (D-141) in beautiful downtown Rohnert Park ("The Hub of Sonoma County"), the World Famous Asphalt Museum is now open for visitors! The museum contains the most select holdings of any asphalt museum in the WORLD, as well as temporary and touring exhibitions. Visiting hours are during the curator's office hours (see Scott's home page).

"Friends of the Asphalt Museum" is an organization dedicated to preserving, promoting, and enjoying the cultural and educational benefits of collecting asphalt. Members enjoy discounts on special events celebrating our asphalt heritage. Sign up on your next visit!

New guest exhibit!... one of the newer sections of the Appian Way, straight from Italy!

Tour highlights

The most valuable holdings are currently old Route 66, and Hwy 1 (the Pacific Coast Highway). Other less noteworthy (but equally exciting) exhibits feature other highways from California, Nevada, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico.
Applications for visiting exhibits are always welcome!!
Past exhibitions have included a road reflector from Stanford, and a piece of the Berlin Wall.
