RENE SMALLWOOD - Co-Producer
Rene studied English Literature at East Carolina University where she
received her BA in 1996.
In 1997 she moved to New York City where she began working in the feature
film industry. Rene has worked on several films including "Mickey Blue
Eyes," "Runaway Bride" and "The Bone Collector." She is
currently working on the re-make of "Shaft" with Samuel L. Jackson,
directed by John Singleton.
This is the second short film that Rene has produced.
BRIAN FASS - Director of Photography
Brian Fass, director of photography of "Lynn’s Wake," was born,
brought up and educated in New York City. He is a college graduate with a major
in art history. At the age of 31 he has had a wealth of film experience. He was
a faculty member at New York University’s School of Continuing Education and a
prepatory technician at Panavision New York.
As a Local 600 IATSE camera assistant, he has worked on Woody Allen films,
Sidney Lumet films, and numerous other feature film projects. During this time
he honed his skills as a director of photography shooting numerous shorts and
low budget feature films.
||Mac Smith (Sound Designer)
Mac is a sound designer from Omaha, Nebraska. He honed
his skills by doing radio production for college and commercial radio
while attending the University of Iowa. Mac recently moved to the East
Bay area outside of San Francisco, with his fiancee, Ashley. He
continues to enjoy watching movies and DJing.
"Lynn's Wake" is Mac's first job as the
Sound Designer on a film.
Michael Franano first came to prominence in the early
nineties with the release of The Front on Columbia Records.
Next came Bakers Pink for Epic Records. The Front's
first single "Fire" co-produced with Andy Wallace, reached no.
29 on the Billboard charts and received heavy rotation on MTV.
During this period Michael toured the world with such legendary artists
as Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Lenny Kravitz, and events like the Monsters
of Rock tour. Michael recently released his first solo album Michael
Moon for Mutiny/Sire Records.
Along with his solo career Michael has ventured into
film and production. Michael's Soundtrack credits include Woody
Allen's Celebrity (where Michael and his band actually appear in
the film performing Michael's composition "Chanel No. 5), Tanya
Fenmore's The Sterling Chase for release Fall of 1999, Diana
Howell's The Motorcycle Diaries, and most recently composing and
conducting the score for Lynn's Wake.
Michael has written for television and commercial
projects including Party of Five and the theme music for Paul
Allen's Zowie Power product launch.
Michael is a staff writer and artist for Sony Music
Publishing and currently working with artists and projects alike.
Yellin (1st Assistant Director)
Eric has worked as an additional assistant director on
several films including "Three Kings" with George Clooney,
"For the Love of the Game" with Kevin Costner and "Lost
Souls." He was a 2nd 2nd Assistant Director on "Makeover"
and the key 2nd Assistant Director on the 2nd Unit portion of "For
the Love of the Game."
Eric is currently working on the new Jerry Bruckheimer
movie, "Coyote Ugly" with John Goodman, as the 2nd 2nd
Jeni Matson moved to New York City in 1994 from
Northern California to continue her studies in film. Graduating from The
New School for Social Research in 1996, she went on to work as a
freelance editor both on the west coast and in the New York area. In
addition to film shorts and documentaries, Jeni also edited the feature
film, "Max 13" directed by Abe Levy. She currently works as an
assistant editor at Cabana, a Manhattan based commercial post-production
facility but still finds time for film and other long format projects.
