What type of Question Do you have?
Why does the guy in Cinnabar say my Raichu went and evolved? This is either a programmer's joke to us, or it's a foreshadow to the next game...
Who is Mew or Myuu, how can I get him, can I get him without a Gameshark/Game Genie? Mew is the 151st Pokémon. It can be found using a Gameshark/Game Genie, but no real method has been proven yet to get it without. The only way you could have gotten a real Mew was by Nintendo Power's contest awhile back (which is over now, so you can't get one)
What is the Truck by the SS Anne for? It has no purpose.
How do I get Pikablu, Togepi, or Pokégods? Here's What Nintendo Power has to say:"If you have access to the Internet you've no doubt heard these rumors, but there's no truth to them. Generally the rumors are a mix of exaggeration and screen shots of characters from Japanese versions of Pokémon. You might have seen a character called 'Pikablu' or 'Togepi,' but rest assured they are not in any current American version of the game. As for the future, not even we know what Pokémon could eventually arrive."
How do I get past the Team Rocket member in front of the Saffron Gym? You need to exterminate the Rocket problem in Silph Co. by defeating Giovanni.

How do I find the other 2 starting Pokémon in the game? They're not there, you must trade from someone else.
What should I use the Master Ball for? There is only one Master Ball in the game and you receive on when you rescue the President of Silph Co. You should use it on Mewtwo.
Oops, I didn't read your FAQ and I used my Master Ball, so how do I catch Mewtwo? Get his power down as low as possible, put him to sleep, and then use Ultra Balls. This can also be applied to the Legendary Birds and any other difficult to catch Pokémon.
What are HMs and TMs, and what do they stand for? An HM or Hidden Machine can teach your Pokémon a special ability like CUT, FLASH, FLY, STRENGTH, and SURF. They can be taught as many times as you want, but your Pokémon can't forget them. A TM or Technical Machine can only be used once to teach your Pokémon a special ability. TM moves can be forgotten.
How do I equip a TM or HM? First pause the game and select ITEM. Select the TM or HM you wish to use and select YES. Choose which Pokémon to assign an ability to. Only Pokémon that are ABLE can use a specific machine.
It says I can use CUT any time, so how do I cut down the bushes? First, you need to obtain the CUT HM from the seasick captain of the S.S. Anne. Secondly, equip the HM to a compatable Pokémon. Thirdly, stand in front of the bush you want to cut. Then, go to the POKéMON selection screen and select the Pokémon you taught the CUT ability. A side menu will pop up where you can select the CUT option. Press the A button to cut the bush.
Why won't my Pokémon listen to me? If your Pokémon is too high a level, it may ignore your commands. Certain Trainer Badges can control higher level Pokémon.
What do I use the Moon Stone for? It can evolve certain Pokémon, such as Clefairy and Jigglypuff.
What does the Nugget do? You can sell it for 5000 at a
Pokemart.
What's the best way to catch a Pokémon in the Safari Zone? Just keep tossing Pokéballs.
Can I get Pikachu early in the game? You can find Pikachu in the Viridian Forest.
Can I use a Water/Fire/Thunder/Moon Stone more than once? No.
Is there an easier way to get Porygon without having to win all of those Coins? Just keep buying the coins from the guy who offers to sell them.
How can I change my Pokémon's name/nickname and why can't I change the name of some of my Pokémon? Talk to the Name Rater in Lavander Town. You can't change the name of Pokémon you traded for or evolved by trading.
Why does the screen keep flashing when I walk? One of your Pokémon has a status ailment and you should get it to a PokéCenter before it faints.
Which Fishing Rod is the best? The Super Rod catches the biggest variety of water Pokémon. It also depends on what kind of Pokémon you are fishing for.
How can I stop a Pokémon from evolving. Press B as it evolves. This only works if it evolves from Exp. Points.
Can I give away Pokémon? It depends, if you want to just want to get rid of a Pokémon you can release it to the wild. But if you want to trade a Pokémon to your friend for nothing in return, then that cannot be done.
Is there a place to buy PP replenishing Ether or Elixer. No, so use them sparingly, and don't sell them.
Is there a place to buy Moon Stones? No, there's only five in the game.
Can you save more than 1 game to a cartridge? No.
Does the game end after you get all 150 Pokémon? No, you can keep leveling up your Pokémon until Pokémon Stadium comes out.
Is there any way to restore a deleted game? If you saved over it, you're out of luck.
How do you use DIG and where can you DIG? Dig will let you get out of caves and buildings just like an escape rope would. You can use it like an HM ability. It's also a good ground attack during battle.
Where is the Earth Badge? You will find the Earth Badge in the Viridian Gym after you defeat the other seven Gym Leaders.
How do I see ghosts? You need to defeat Giovanni under the Celadon Game Corner in Celadon City. He will drop the Silph Scope after you defeat him.
How do I evolve Pikachu? Pikachu won't evolve in Yellow. Yellow is supposed to follow the storyline of the show, and since Pikachu wouldn't let Ash evolve him in the show, Pikachu won't let you evolve him in the game either.
How do I get Bulbasaur? You must train Pikachu constantly in order for Melanie to think you are a good enough trainer for Pikachu. Here's what Nintendo Power said in their "Pokécenter" article in Volume 126:"To impress the trainer so much that she'll hand over her Bulbasaur, you must take good enough care of your Pikachu to make it extremely happy. This means constantly keeping it healthy, leading with it in battle, raising its level frequently and generally treating it like your best friend. How happy is happy enough? Only Bulbasaur will tell."

What is a Game Genie or Gameshark? If you don't know what they are then you don't have one. A Game Genie is made by Galoob, it lets you enter codes that manipulate the game allowing you to cheat. A Gameshark lets you do the same thing, but it's more reliable than a Game Genie and it's made by InterAct.
Why does the game crash when I use the Game Genie? You need an old Game Boy for it to work, although for some reason, some versions of the Game Boy Pocket let you use the Game Genie (But not mine). It is best to give up on Game Genie and get a new Gameshark.
How much does a Gameshark cost? A Game Boy Gameshark usually sells for around $30 (US) new. You can buy one from our page here.
Why doesn't my Gameshark work on my game? Nintendo doesn't like people using Gameshark on their games so the newer the game is, the more likely it won't work with the current Gameshark version.
Do you have a Gameshark code for [insert code description here]? All the Gameshark codes I have are on the Gameshark page. If I get more I'll post them.
Where can I find Pokémon ROMs or an Emulator, can you send them to me, can you tell me where I can download the game? Not here; No; No.
How do I make the accented e (é)? There's two ways for the PC. PC users can push and hold ALT and pressing 1 3 0 (on the number pad) and then letting go of ALT. Or you could hold ALT and 0 2 3 3. For the MAC hold the Option Key, hit e, then hit e again.
Where did your MP3's go? We're not allowed to have them anymore.
Can I join your site? I get this question A LOT. I don't usually have any openings, but if you want to add something new to the site, you could just send it in. I sometimes post things people sent in giving them credit.
How do I become an affiliate? Sorry, I don't affiliate with sites anymore.
Why can't I get into chat? Your browser might not have Java enabled. Or you are trying to use a Nickname that is already registered.
I sent you a question but why didn't you answer? You probably asked us something that was already answered in the FAQ, or it could have been found in the Walkthru. Or it might be because you have AOL. We seem to have a lot of email being bounced back to us when we try to reply to someone with an AOL account since a lot of people have a setting on where they cannot receive any email from someone. Or you might not be sending us Pokémon related questions.

What version of the game do you own/play? I (Kevin) own Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, & Silver. Not to mention Snap, Stadium, Puzzle League.
