A groovy lace crochet blouse pattern donated by Cheryl Burks - BIG THANKS to Cheryl!

SIZES: Misses' small (medium-large). Garment width around underarms, about 33" (35"-37").

MATERIALS: Baby yarn, 13 (14-15) ozs. Crochet hook size E (F-G), or size required to crochet to gauge.

GAUGE: 5 dc = 1"; 5 rows dc = 2" (on size E hook). 9 dc = 2"; 7 rows dc = 3" (on size F hook). 4 dc = 1"; 4 rows dc = 2" (on size G hook).

___BACK: Ch 91.

___Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook, * sk 2 ch; work (3 dc, ch 2, 1 dc) in the next ch (shell made), sk 2 ch, dc in each of the next 5 ch, repeat from * across, end dc in each of the last 2 ch.

___Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), turn; dc in next dc, * work shell in the ch-2 sp of the shell of the previous row, dc in each of the 5 dc in previous row, repeat from * across, end with a shell in last ch-2 sp of previous row, dc in next dc and dc in turning ch. Repeat Row 2 for pat. Work even in pat until 13-1/2" from beg, or desired length to underarms. Fasten off yarn. Turn.

___Shape Armhole: Join yarn in the ch-2 sp of the first shell, ch 3, dc in each of the next 3 dc of shell; continue across row in pat, end with dc in dc of last shell, dc in ch-2 sp, dc in next dc. Turn. Sl st to 3rd dc, ch 3, then continue across row as established to within the last 2 dc; turn. Dec 1 dc at each armhole edge every row until there are 4 dc at beg and end of row. Work even until about 4-3/4" from beg of armhole shaping; turn.

___Shape Neck: Mark the center shell. Work in pat as established to one shell before the center shell, work the shell, then dc in first dc of the group of 5 dc of the previous row; turn. Sl st across the shell to the 2nd dc of the group of 3 dc, ch 3, dc in next dc, complete row in pat; turn. Work to within 2 dc of the neck edge; turn. Dec 1 dc at neck edge of each of the next 2 rows. Work even until 7-1/4" (7-1/2"- 7-3/4") from the beg of armhole shaping. Fasten off yarn.

___Complete other side of neck as follows: Join yarn in the 5th dc to the left of the center shell, ch 3, work the next shell, continue across to the armhole edge; turn. Work over to the last shell, dc in first dc of shell, dc in ch-2 sp; turn. Sl st in the first 3 dc, ch 3, complete row in pat. Dec 1 dc at neck edge of each of the next 2 rows. Work even until armhole is same depth as other side.

___FRONT: Work as for back until armhole measures 4". Then shape neck as for back. Work even until armhole is 7-1/4" (7-1/2"-7-3/4") from the start of shaping. Fasten off.

___SLEEVES: Ch 57. Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each of the next 3 ch, * sk 2 ch, work shell as on back in next ch, sk 2 ch, dc in each of the next 5 ch, repeat from * across. Keeping in pat as established, inc 1 dc at each edge on each of the next 4 rows -- 9 dc at beg and end of row. Work even until 3" (3"-3-1/2") from beg.

___Shape Cap: Sl st in the first 5 dc, ch 3; continue across row in pat to within last 4 dc; turn. Sl st in first 3 dc, ch 3, work across row in pat to within last 2 dc. Repeat the last row once.

___Next Row:
** Sl st across shell to the first of 3 dc, ch 3, dc in next 2 dc, continue across row in pat to last shell, dc in first dc of shell, dc in sp, dc in next dc; turn. ** Dec 1 dc at each edge every row 7 times. Repeat from ** to **. Dec 1 dc at each edge on the next row. Fasten off.

__FINISHING: Sew front to back at shoulder seams, tapering seam from 1/4" at neck edge to about 3/4" at armhole edge. Sew side and sleeve seams. Sew in sleeves, easing fullness into cap.

___Neck Edging: With right side of work facing, starting at a shoulder seam, sc around neck edge (do not pull tight), then work around neck in shell st as follows: * sk 2 sc, work 5 dc in next sc, sk 2 sc, sc in next sc, repeat from * around. Work the same shell st border in the foundation ch rows of the bottom edges and sleeves.
