Political History

-Served as a Lieutenant in the Qatari Armed Forces.
-On 19 December 1999 His Highness was appointed chairman of THE Higher Committee for Coordination and follow –up, mandated to study projects proposed by the ministries caring for public services and utilities with the aim of coordinating between those ministries and following up the implementation of their projects.
-On 16 July 2000 His Highness was appointed chairman of the Supreme Council for Environment and Natural Reserves.
-His Highness supervises the upgrading of the Qatari armed forces.
-His Highness accords special care and attention to sports, youths activities and issues of the environment.
-An Emiri Order was issued on 22 October 1996 appointing His Highness as Heir Apparent.
