Every Tuesday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. ET is the Legion Chat hour in the DC Comics chat room on AOL where fans are regularly joined by Legion creators in discusiing the Legion. JamesWSchee@aol.com creates a summary of the chat, and I've gotten his permission to post it here. Enjoy!

Welcome to another Legion Chat Recap! This time in attendance was Mike McAvennie.

Mike said that he got his copies of WORLDS #1 in today and that they look great. They will be in stores next week.

When asked about sales on Superboy's Legion, Mike said "Pretty good, I guess. Always wish we'd get more, but I think it did all right. Reorders are high on it, from what I've been told."

When asked if there would a TPB of it, Mike replied "No idea about a trade paperback right now. Hey, I still want one for LOST."

Concerning whether character placement in the image going around of the new Legion series means anything, Mike answered "To be honest, it's a promotional piece, and I don't think anyone should read too heavily about positioning or coloring or anything just yet."

Mike said that it isn't necessarily even the cover to #1, as they "wanted something for the retailers to see, and the response was pretty good."

When asked if he reads the message boards, or mailing lists, Mike responded that "I dabble everywhere and nowhere. I try not to read too much, but will indulge every once in a while and see what I've been missing."

Mike said he has been encouraged that a number of the artists he's working with on WORLDS have become interested in Legion because of Abnett, Lanning and Copiel's work.

Mike said that the scripts for all of the parts of WORLDS are out to their respective artists, except a backup that he's kept back for unspecified reasons.

Mike wouldn't comment on what or who the familiar threat mentioned in the article would be, as he said it is too early. "Right now, I'm just telling people that we did the piece for the retailers to see and not all the elements are final."

He did say that McKone will contribute art to the book occasionally, and that they would build the storyarcs to fit McKone's style best. He said he hopes that there won't be any need for a middle of a storyarc fill-in.

We have sorely needed this for the last year, since the chat reports aren't posted at the New Comics Releases Web Site anymore. Dashel, is there any chance you could do this on a regular basis? I'm rarely in front of a computer on in the early evening, and I don't have AOL in the first place.

As far as McAvennie's comments, the TPB info is interesting. Hopefully, it's another indicadation to people "waiting" for a trade to realize that they need to go ahead and search out the back issues of Lost or Superboy's Legion and, of course, add "Worlds" to their pull list.

Everett K. Ross on Captain America:
"...we've got this guy running around with a flag on his chest, spouting nonsense about truth and justice in a world where presidents spend millions of dollars arguing the meaning of the word "is" and G. Gordon Liddy is a radio host.
And you know what? His optimism is INFECTIOUS. You can't be around him more than a minute without humming anthems."

Hey Gang,

I don't get to make it over here very often, but since Dashel asked if he could put this I wanted to peek in.

Good to see such positive support for it, and if the interest is there I see no reason why either Dashel or myself (if I have time) can't post these here.

There may not be one next week, as Mike said he couldn't make it. Perhaps Dan, Andy or another member of the team will be ther though, and if so I'll have something to report.

Thanks, James and Dashel. It was a very informative summary.

I'm *slightly* disappointed to learn that the image we all drooled over may not be the cover to #1, and that nothing on it is set in stone. But it makes sense that DC wouldn't release the real cover this early, before WORLDS even hits the stands.

Guess we can all go back to our guessing games as to who's going to be included, eh?

I echo most everyone's sentiment that some hardy soul recaps this for us non-AOLrs. It would be greatly appreciated.

To Dashel and James, many thanks from me!
