Better chances for Russia
Russia But it was Russia, who won the tournament as part of the old Soviet Union in 1985, who will feel aggrieved as they had the better of the chances in the match.

Industrious Poles
The industrious Polish team did well to contain the Russians who started well with the best chance falling to Rousian Dzoutsev who lifted his shot just wide of the far post.

End to end
A less fluid second half nevertheless produced better chances for both sides, with end to end play to excite the enthusiastic crowd of 1,125. Russia will hope to get their first win on Wednesday night against Turkey, while Poland take on the Netherlands.
