Mike
Pence and His Family
Personal Background
Mike Pence was born in Columbus, Indiana and graduated from Hanover
College in 1981 and from Indiana University's School of Law in 1986.
Pence was the Republican Nominee for the United States House of Representatives
in the Second District in 1988 and 1990. In 1991, after one of the
most divisive congressional campaigns in modern Indiana History, he wrote
an article on his experiences as a Christian in politics entitled, "Confessions
of a Negative Campaigner", which has been republished in newspapers throughout
Indiana.
From 1991-1993, Mike Pence served as president of the prestigious Indiana
Policy Review Foundation, a think tank based in Fort Wayne. In 1992,
Mike Pence began pursuing a career in radio broadcasting with the Mike
Pence Show and by 1994, Network Indiana began syndicating the broadcast
state-wide.
He has hosted such guests as Bob Dole, Dan Quayle, Dick Lugar, Dan Coats
and many other state and national leaders.
In 1994, Mike Pence was named the "Top 40 Under 40" by the Indianapolis
Business Journal.
Mike has been married for 15 years to his wife, Karen. Mike and
Karen have three children: Michael, 8; Charlotte, 6; Audrey, 5. |
