Comelec halts proclamation of winners in Caloocan

The Commission on Election (Comelec) en banc ordered the Caloocan City Board of Canvassers (BoC) to suspend the proclamation of the winners in the local elections, abs-cbnNEWS.com learned Saturday.

In a two-page order, Comelec directed BoC chairman Calixto Ramos to withhold the proclamation of winning candidates for the congressional, mayoral, vice mayoral and city council seats in Caloocan City "until further orders."

The poll body, however, did not suspend the canvassing of election returns that is being held at the Caloocan City Hall's Bulwagang Katipunan.

As of press time, eight ballot boxes containing election returns are still to be canvassed by the board.
