GLAAD HONORS PARIS BARCLAY, WILL & GRACE, QUEER AS FOLK, K.D. LANG, LOS ANGELES TIMES AT 12TH ANNUAL MEDIA AWARDS PRESENTED BY ABSOLUT VODKA IN LOS ANGELES
The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) honored the best in film, television, journalism, music and theater Saturday night at the 12th Annual GLAAD Media Awards Presented by ABSOLUT VODKA at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.
The GLAAD Media Awards honor individuals and projects in the media and entertainment industries for their fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives.
At ceremonies held Saturday, April 28 at the Century Plaza Hotel, Jimmy Smits presented director/producer/writer Paris Barclay (The West Wing, ER) with the Stephen F. Kolzak Award. The award, named after a highly successful Los Angeles casting director who devoted the last part of his life to fighting AIDS-phobia and homophobia within the entertainment industry, honors a lesbian or gay member of the entertainment or media community for his/her work toward eliminating homophobia.
