| Overview | |
| NOIE is managing the development of a capability for discovery of government tenders through a Single Search Site. The project has been commissioned by the Australian Procurement and Construction Ministerial Council and will allow suppliers to access, through a single search facility, public tender information released by the Commonwealth, State and Territory Governments. | |
| NOIE is the lead agency for a
project to enable users to access information about government public
tenders (whether issued by the Commonwealth, a State or Territory
Government) through a Single Search Site. Currently all jurisdictions
have their own tender websites – this project will provide a single
cross-jurisdictional search capability. This is likely to be accessible
through a number of entry points, including Ausindustry’s Bizlink
information service and the Business
Entry Point (BEP) of the Department of Employment, Workplace
Relations and Small Business (DEWRSB).
The project has been commissioned by the Australian Procurement and Construction Ministerial Council, which includes representatives from the Commonwealth, State and Territory governments. NOIE is working with other jurisdictions to define what tender data should be available, with Ausindustry, who will manage the information collection arrangements, and DEWRSB, who will provide an entry point to the information through the BEP. It is intended that jurisdictions will upload tender notice data automatically from their tender websites (in the case of the Commonwealth, this is the Government Advertising Site). This will ensure there will be minimal impact on government users:- once procurement officers have lodged their tender notices with their jurisdictional website, they will not need to repeat the process for their tenders to be available through the Single Search facility. A pilot facility is being evaluated, and is planned for release in late 2001. |
