    Trakanon

    Monster
Picture of Trakanon The Undead Dragon, Trakanon.

It was Trakanon who led the assault on the Iksar Empire, razing their cities before taking up residence in Venril Santhir's old stronghold of Sebilis. He has managed to dodge death, and seems to have come out even better off.

He claws for 650, with a sickening melee range, and his breath attack has been known to kill whole groups in minutes.

It is Trakanon who drops the Breastplates for the Kunark Class specific armour.

Another reason the "uber" guilds don't tell anyone their strategies on killing these type of mobs is that then they would have competition. When you consider a 3 or 7 day spawn rate for alot of these dragons, people do want to kill them, infact alot of people do, so the fewer guilds that know how, the greater chance you will get to the mob first. Thus alot of times you'll have 1 or 2 people from several different guilds sitting in a zone for hours and hours waiting on a single mob to spawn.

As for as the ppl who say they solo uber dragon, comeon.. no need to get worked up, it's obviously a joke.

As far as Trak being tough, he has 32k hps max for kunark, that's nothing anymore.. my guild has got it down so he dies in approximately 15-20seconds. never gets more than one aoe off sometimes not even one. So there are alot tougher mobs in Velious. With the hp cap removed.

about the sk harmtouch thing it might not work on trakky since he breaths poison and it is poision based, but if you got him down to 30 percent with the Main tanks and then brought in the wizzys and a full group of lvl 60 sks it would work great, but you will never find that many sk's there just isnt that many kind of sad ( I have seen a group of SK's do it on Venril Sathir and do it well.

Logical thinking, that doesnt take an "uber" guild. Just study the mob, see its weakness and its strength. Reduse its strength and strike where its most vounerable. All it takes is that you know what all classes can provide and how to control the small powers of many. The guilds you refere to as "uber" have learned this the hard way or had the information passed on to them. If they dont want to share it they likely consider it to be the their key to their "great reputation". Nothing really "uber" about beeing unwilling to share info and experience, if thats what you think it stands for.
Most guilds that with a few handfulls of highlevellers would take this guy down anyway, maybe not on first attempt but for each attempt their strategy will be pollished.

      OK killing Trak,

only done it with my guld a few times , but here is what I learned. First you'll want about 2 groups of 55+ to go in and clear to the juggernaugts and all, there is a room near a bridge that is very close to Trak , but out of aggro.

You need a lvl 55+ mage with Coth(call of the hero) and a member of his group bound at the entrance to OS. after the clear groups are in place, a caster in the mages group invites people as they zone in , the mage coths them , and they disband. once everone is there , usually around 30 people. EVERYTHING is cleared, all the juggs, toljepump whatever his name is (if you can't clear EVERTHING around trak, then you can't kill trak.

For buffing , you want a necro to DMF everyone, you want a shaman to cast shadoo on everyone, and posion potions and your best resist gear is in order, you should have no trouble at all getting your PR to 220+. The AOE poison dot will still most likely hit you , oh well =/

Group composition , you'll want at least 2 very strong tank groups , to rush him first. Then you want a few chanters there to mana seive him, any debuffs you can get to land.. then have all the wizzies and casters open up on him around 30-40%.

The Trak raids I have been on he never lasted more then about a minute.

650 is very hard for melee damage but its not as bad as it sounds since by the time you could really fight him the tanks in the group would have 2k+ hp and with good healers it is possible to keep everyone alive while trak goes down. dying really isnt that bad at that level cause you can always get an exp rez when the fight is over. i have heard of max groups (only 45 people can attack a creature at one time or they will all LD correct?) or more being needed to take down trakanon. while it might be possible to find a way to do a harm touch kill it is not likely that anyone would try it. it would be easier to do it with a well organized group/guild

Trakky is the greatest challenge in Kunark. Takes a good 30 people to drop him, provided they're well balanced groups and all composed of 55+ people. Hits for 650ish damage, has an AoE Poison Rain that can hit you even with 210 PR (happened to me =). Incredibly hard to even get to. Even then you have a bunch of Sebilite Juggernauts or whatnot guarding him, so you have to keep em mezzed mid fight. Pulling mobs around Tolapumj (spelled like that, yes its very close to Jumpalot. =) can aggro him and his friends. Has a "Trakanon Touch", a 2000 hp lifetap. Summons. Also drops "Trakanon Guts," the component for the Bard Epic.

thusly, VP is a more difficult zone than OS, but trakanon is harder as a single mob than anything in VP, to my knowledge.
