No, I'm not serious, but we're getting self-referential enough here that I just want to be the first to suggest it.
Neo-Idaho

aw, no way!! I am incredulous. Yeah, but you certainly were not the first one to think it. :) I was in the middle of posting this exact thing this morning, Halfcon, August 11th, and decided against it. Great minds run the same channels, eh Peter? hahaha...
oh, wait... I was serious... Well, I'm off then! It's another round of HBDetox for me! |

It would have be held in Neo-Idaho and we would have to apologise to all the penguins for their new fascist overlords. |

Don't bring your cell phone. It'll be useless there. |

My farm, Memorial Day Weekend (May 26-27-28 for those non-Americans). Bring your tents, volleyball nets, cricket sticks (or whatever they use for that game...), rugby stuff (again, I'm clueless). I'll make custard pies for dessert. I also expect guitars around the campfire...somebody here has to know how to play. |
|
| |
As long as you provide the bats and dice for the American football. |
|
| |
i'll bring the guitar *and* the harmonica!
will you be giving free horsey-rides susen? |
|
| |
Trail rides are definitely on the agenda.....anyone want to take a TB racehorse around the track at 33 mph? |
|
| |
...i prefer 33 & 1/3 myself (they still make them too.) |
|

I propose a satellite linkup with Australia and the UK ... unless some well-heeled HalfBaker is willing to cover airfare for such charter posters as UnaBubba and Aristotle.
Host a convention without our cherished luminaries? Unthinkable. Someone's got to correct our grammar, regale us with arcane trivia, and chair all discussions of custard fanaticism, yes? |

I could probably cross the Atlantic on a frequent traveller scheme I have no small amount of points with. I nearly went to New York with my wife a while back but the hotel would have bankrupted us. If I was to travel to America on leisure my goal would be to go to a role-playing convention that features Professor M.A.R. Barker, father of modern role-playing and a vertiable modern day Tolkien. He is quite venerable and there might not be too many opportunities. |

With a live webcam link for those of us who just can't make it? |

I'll take care of the pyrotechnics. Aaahhhh, fire. |

Brits have to bring at least one f&m-infected cow apiece for AA to incinerate. |
|
| |
not to my farm they don't (although horses are immune, my neighbor has beef cattle....) |
|
| |
<Midwest drawl> You'll find they're wrapped in plastic</Midwest drawl> |
|
| |
And packed in custard, probably. |
|
| |
Laura Palmer was packed in custard? |
|

I'd like to let everyone know that I'm VERY disappointed that no one showed up last weekend. I had a stall ready for Peter and egnor to share (thanks for the idea, UB ;-) and a really bizarre weekend of activities planned..... now what do I do with all of these custard pies??? |
|
| |
There's nothing conventional about halfbakers. |
|
| |
Can I have one of those pies? |
|
| |
I had half a mind to turn up anyway. |
