It is interchangeable with NANTUCK 4-PLY, NANTUK SWEATER & AFGHAN YARN and all Columbia-Minerva yarns of Knitting Worsted weight. Be sure to purchase sufficient yardage of one dye-lot when substituting another Columbia-Minerva yarn.
MATERIALS REQUIRED:
• Columbia-Minerva SKYLARK (3-1/2 oz. pull skeins):
Color A: 3 skeins
Color B: 1 skein
• Boye Crochet Hook Size G
___Starting at center of long straight edge, with Color A - ch 6.
___Row 1: 2 dc in 4th ch from hook, ch 1 skip 1 ch, 3 dc in last ch, ch 3, turn.
___Row 2: 2 dc in first dc, ch 1; In next ch-1 space work 3 dc, ch 1 & 3 dc; ch 3 dc in top of turning-ch, ch 3, turn.
___Row 3: 2 dc in first dc, ch 1; 3 dc in next space for a shell, ch 1; in center space work 3 dc, ch 1 & 3 dc for center inc, ch 1, 1 shell in next space, ch 1, 1 shell in turning-ch, ch 3, turn.
___Row 4: With turning-ch as first dc, work 2 more dc in first dc for an inc shell; ch 1 & 1 shell in each space to center space, ch 1, in center space work 3 dc, ch 1 & 3 dc for center inc, ch 1 & 1 shell in each space to end, ch 1, 1 shell in turning-ch for inc shell, ch 3, turn.
___Repeat Row 4 for pattern, working until there are 29 rows from start, counting through center.
___Work off last dc of last row with Color B, drop A, ch 3, turn.
___* With Color B-repeat Row 4, pass skein of B through loop on hook to fasten, do not break off.
___Working on same side as last row, pick up Color A at start of previous row, ch 3, repeat Row 4, work off last dc with Color B, ch 3, turn.
___Repeat from * until there are 5 B stripes. Break off B, With A-work 2 more rows. Fasten off.
___Fringe: Cut four 15-inch strands of Color B. Fold in half. Draw fold through space at center point. Draw ends through loop and tighten. Repeat fringe in each space of shaped edges. Trim.
