___CAPE: Using No. I crochet hook ch 52.
___1st row: Into 4th ch from hook work 1 hdc, * ch 1, skip ch 1, 1 hdc in next ch, rep from * to end. Turn. 51 sts.
___2nd row: Ch 3, work 1 hdc, ch 1, 1 hdc all into first ch sp, * (ch 1, 1 hdc) in next ch sp 3 times, (ch 1, 1 hdc) twice in next ch sp, rep from * ending with 1 hdc in turning ch. Turn.
___3rd row: Ch 3, skip first hdc, (1 hdc, ch 1, 1 hdc) in next ch sp above inc on previous row, * (ch 1, 1 hdc) inch sp 4 times, (ch 1, 1 hdc) twice in next ch sp; rep from * ending with 1 hdc in turning ch. Turn.
___Cont to inc in this way on next 5 rows.
___9th row: Ch 3, skip next hdc, 1 hdc in ch sp, (ch 1, 1 hdc) in each ch sp to end, working (ch 1, 1 hdc) twice into center ch sp only. Turn.
Change to No. K crochet hook.
___10th row: Ch 4, *skip next ch sp, (2 tr, ch 1, 2 tr) in next ch sp, ch 1, skip next ch sp, inserting hook from right to left around stem of hdc from front of work, work 1 tr around stem of next hdc, ch 1, rep from * to last 2 ch sps, (2 tr, ch 1, 2 tr) in next ch sp, ch 1, 1 tr in turning ch. Turn.
___11th row: Ch 4, *(2 tr, ch 1, 2 tr) in ch sp of group, ch 1, inserting hook from right to left from back of work, work 1 tr around stem of single tr, ch 1, rep from * to last group, (2 tr, ch 1, 2 tr) into ch sp of group, ch 1, 1 tr in turning ch. Turn.
___12th row: As 11th row but working single tr around stem of tr from front of work.
___Rep 11th and 12th rows 3 times more, then 11th row once. Fasten off.
EDGING: Using No. K crochet hook beg at neck edge of left front, work in sc down front edge, then work along lower edge as follows: ch 4, 1 tr in first ch sp, * ( ch 3, sl st into first of these ch 3 - called 1 picot, 2 tr) twice into ch sp of group, (1 picot, 2 tr) into each of next 2 ch sps, rep from * to last group, (1 picot, 2 tr) twice into group, 1 picot, 2 tr into last ch sp, cont in sc up left front edge, then work around neck edge, as follows: (1 picot, 2 tr) into each ch sp to end. Join with sl st to 4th of first ch 4. Fasten off. Finishing Press lightly under a damp cloth with a warm iron. Thread ribbon through first row of openings at neck edge.
