North Wind: The wind of death-not necessarily that of physical death, but that of elimination of negativity. Blows cold & is dry or barren, thus paving the way for spells of destruction.
If you are depressed, anxious, envious, jealous, angry, & the wind is blowing from the North, face full into it & it will free you of these things. If you wish to break a bad habit, perform any spell of this nature while the North Wind is blowing for added power. The North Wind is the wind of the element Earth.
Healing can be greatly aided by the North Wind. It's color is black of midnight.
East Wind: It's the wind of freshness, renewed life, strength, power & intellect. It's a warm, bracing wind that blows from the point where the Sun, Moon & stars make their appearances.
Use with spells concerning dramatic improvements, changes for the better, especially in behavior. Also with those involving the mind & the element of Air, to which it's magickally related.
Love spells are best NOT performed with a Easterly Wind, unless you want a very intellectual love. It's color is white like light.
South Wind: A hot, firey wind. It rules noon, when the Sun (or Moon) is highest in the sky. The South Wind is related to the element of Fire. The South Wind can be used for any type of magick when it's blowing. It's a good time to cast spells. BEWARE that fire, even diluted Fire of the Southern Wind can be dangerous. Fire can burn. The color is yellow as the sun.
West Wind: This wind blows cool & moist; it may carry a hint of rain or mist. It's a fertile, loving force that's gentle and persuasive. It rules twilight, when all is at a standstill. Sunset, like sunrise, is an excellent time to perform magick - more so if the correct wind is blowing. Water magick - love, healing, fertility & so on is great for the West Wind. Good for spells involving cleansing or purely religious rituals. It's color is the blue of the sky just before all light fades from the sky.

Face North and say:
"Winds Of The North! Rushing and Mighty!
Aid Me In My Magickal Work!"
Face East and say:
Winds Of The East! Dazzling and Bright!
Aid Me In My Magickal Work!
Face South and say:
"Winds Of The South! Firey and Radiant!
Aid Me In My Magickal Work!"
Face West and say:
"Winds Of The West! Gentle and Buoyant!
Aid Me In My Magickal Work!"
Once you have assembled everything you need for the spell you want to do, in the place you're performing it (preferably outside) say the above invocation. Then proceed with the spell. If working with one wind, turn to the appropriate direction and say the words above. Stand for a moment. Feel the wind (if only in your imagination) blowing from the direction.

East Wind: In the open air face the direction where the person is present. If unknown repeat the below to each direction, starting in the North. Extend your arms and hands and in a clear, but soft voice, call the person's name. Visualize his/her features. Call the name again, with more force, and then a third time, quite loudly. Next state your message as if speaking to them in person. Keep this short & percise. When finished, listen for a reply. Don't imagine one, but listen. This works best with practice, or with friends with whom you are intimately close.
Take several handfuls of sand & throw them up into the air. By the third or fourth handful, the wind should have picked up and blown the sand from your hand. Use fine, clean sand.
Gather four feathers, preferably one each of these colors: white, blue, yellow, and black, to represent the four winds. Take these four feathers and tie them together with a thick cord. Place the feathers in the bottom of a bowl and cover them over completely with salt so that they aren't visible. This will blind and earth the winds and they should soon abate.
*If you make it a habit to work with the element of Air, you might want to get a weather vane. This will allow you to tell which way the winds are blowing with ease.
