Boy Scout Leader Wood Badge Training was formulated by Sir Robert Baden-Powell, the founder of the international Scouting movement, to train adults to enable boys to lead themselves through the discoveries and adventures of Scouting. The course to be offered in the fall of 2001, will be an extension of the first Wood Badge course, led by Baden-Powell in 1919 at Gilwell Park near London, England.

  3. Would you like to learn a new Dutch oven recipe for dynamite brownies?
  4. Would you like to be able to identify resources available for your use as a Scout Leader?

  7. Would knowing the needs and characteristics of the boys in your unit help provide them the best Scouting program possible?
  8. Do you like meeting other Scouters, sharing ideas with them?
  9. Could you effectively evaluate your unit’s activities and use that evaluation when planning future activities?
  10. Would you like to learn a process to use to effectively teach skills to boys so they won’t know they’re being taught?
