Kaziranga reopens on November 1

GUWAHATI: The world famous Kaziranga National Park, home to the endangered one-horn rhinos, will open to visitors on November 1.

The park would be reopened on schedule as the flood did not cause much damage this time leaving most of the jungle roads and bridges intact. According to the Kaziranga Park authorities, the tourist facilities had improved and they were expecting more tourists this year.

Last year 37,000 Indian tourists and more than 1200 foreigners tourists had visited the park bringing in a revenue of more than Rs 23 lakh. This year the target has been pegged at 40,000 tourists. (UNI)
