Lookin' For A Little TLC

Keith,

I need to know something about the release dates for the fourth TLC album and Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes' solo album. Did Lopes' album get pushed back from the Aug. 14 release date? Also, is there a release date set for the next TLC album? How many albums has TLC sold?

Thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt,

TLC, which recently appeared on MTV's 20th anniversary celebration special, is currently finishing up its fourth album, due out in November. You are right in suspecting that Left Eye's debut solo set has been pushed back. The album was originally scheduled for an August release, but its new street date has not been announced. Director Hype Williams already shot a video for the album's first single, "The Block Party."

TLC's last effort, 1999's "FanMail," debuted at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 4.6 million units in the U.S., according to SoundScan. 1994's "CrazySexyCool" reached No. 3 and has shifted 7 million while the group's debut, 1992's "Ooooooohhh - On the TLC Tip," climbed to No. 14 and has sold 2.5 million.

Strange Things Are Afoot

Keith,

Is there an upcoming release date for Tori Amos entitled "Strange Little Girls?" Also, is there an upcoming release from nine inch nails?

Robert and Marshall
Robmarsh1102@webtv.net

Robert and Marshall,

Tori Amos' "Strange Little Girls," the singer-songwriter's first set since 1999's double-album "To Venus And Back," is due out Sept. 18 via Atlantic. As previously reported on Billboard.com, the all-covers album is comprised of songs written by men, including Eminem's "97' Bonnie & Clyde," Depeche Mode's "Enjoy the Silence," and Neil Young's "Heart of Gold."

Trent Reznor has been in the studio working on new nine inch nails material, as well as new music for his side project, Tapeworm. He is also preparing an as-yet-untitled live album and video release chronicling the band's 2000 tour. The nothing/Interscope set may be released this fall.

Reznor most recently contributed a new nine inch nails song, "Deep," to the "Tomb Raider" soundtrack. The track reached No. 18 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart in June.

Annie Up

Hi Keith,

Great site! Please tell me what Annie Lennox is up to. Is there a new CD in the works? How many units did "Peace" sell?

Thanks!
Danny
Dannydudley@go.com

Hello,

Annie Lennox is currently working on a new album, but no release date has been set for the effort. Her most recent release was the last Eurythmics album, 1998's "Peace," which peaked at No. 25 on The Billboard 200. The Arista album has sold 327,000 copies in the U.S., according to SoundScan.

Lennox' last solo project, 1995's "Medusa," debuted and peaked at No. 11 on The Billboard 200 and has shifted 1.7 million units.
