Background on INFORM, Inc.
INFORM is a national not-for-profit environmental research and education organization. It focuses on independent examination of business practices, technologies and products that impact the environment, workers and public health. It explores practical solutions for preventing damaging impacts at their source. INFORM identifies steps that businesses have taken -- and can take -- to steadily improve their environmental performance. It assesses breakthrough technologies and products that meet society's needs for goods and services in ways that may meet the needs of an environmentally sustainable society.

INFORM's research is widely used by government, business and environmental leaders as they debate future environmental and health policies and programs. INFORM findings enter the marketplace of ideas in in-depth reports, articles, editorials, government testimony, seminars and talks at business and government forums.

INFORM staff conducts an extensive publicity and outreach agenda and INFORM findings have had a significant impact on both public and private sector programs over the last two decades in the United States and, increasingly, abroad. INFORM has a staff of 15, including a distinguished team of scientists and policy analysts. Its Board of Directors is fully committed to its educational mission. The Board works cooperatively with the President and the senior management to strengthen INFORM's programs, improve its operations, insure its sound fiscal management, and extend its influence. INFORM's work is supported by more than two dozen foundations, by memberships of its Corporate Associates group, by government grants, and by a growing individual donor support group.

INFORM's Sustainable Transportation Program focuses on promoting awareness of the alternative fuels and advanced technologies that enable a shift away from our reliance on oil derived fuels to power vehicles.
