King of the Hill
» by Mia'cova
King of the Hill can be great fun against humans or bots. Nothing beats running around DMMorbius with an Eightball Launcher, double damage, a pulsing red glow around you, five rockets loaded with another on the way, and many many targets. :) Perfect for a quick 5-15 minute botmatch.

To launch a King of the Hill game set up your game in botmatch or multiplayer the same as you would for a normal DeathMatch game. All you have to do is set the game type to 'King of the Hill'. If you are joining a game, you don't even have to do anything special, just join and play.

This is how a basic game of King of the Hill works:
1: Game is started and players enter the game, as if it were a Death Match.
2: The first player to make a kill becomes king, which is supposedly a good thing. He receives one frag for the kill.
3: Everyone else sees the new king, and tries to kill him. The king produces double the damage of a normal player, making it hard to kill him. Surprise attacks are most effective against a king.
4: Finally someone manages to kill the king. He is awarded five frags for the kill. He then takes the kings place, as king.
5: You are killed many times over, though manage to get a couple yourself. Most players get a short chance at giving out 2x damage, as the king, before killed.
6: Timelimit or Fraglimit is hit and the game ends. Whoever has the most frags wins. A new map is usually loaded with the same settings and the fun begins all over.

- The king is identified by a red glow surround him. This is exactly like the energy amplifier effect, so I wouldn't recommend playing on levels with an energy amplifer because the two can be confused.
If there's anything you'd like to point out, let me know. I'll add/delete/fix it for you.
