MY MUSIC FAVORITES

|
Scott Stapp is great at writing lyrics, and is able to "paint" a picture of words. Mark Tremonti lays down some of today's sickest riffs. They put on a great live show.

Deftones

|
They are amazing at mixing melody with heaviness. Tunes such as "bored" and "my own summer (shove it)" are very inspirational to the band, (adrenalyn that is).

Staind

The band is phenominal. They are able to mix acoustic songs and metal songs and not loose their edge. They have a very defined and noticable style. Aaron Lewis writes some of the most deep lyrics. Mike the guitarist is a phenominal under-rated guitarist. Matt saw Mike play during a sound check at a club he worked at and was blown away by how great of a guitarist he was.

Godsmack

Godsmack is a drum or beat driven band. They write their riffs to the beat and make it sound great. They are able to take one chord and use it over and over but not over use it. The vocals are great. You can feel the energy behind the music along w/ the agression and anger of the song. They're a band you can "feel."

Papa Roach

Peter's favorite band. Peter's vocal style and lyrics are similar to that of Coby Dick's. A great energetic hardcore band w/ deep thoughtful lyrics. Coby dick is able to beautifully blend screaming vocals w/ melodic vocals. They are a band able to tone down yet not loose their edge, like they do in songs like "binge" and "tightrope." The bass lines are excellent, the drumming is phenominal, and the guitar riffs are some of the best of todays up and coming bands.
