A place for GameSpy's Flash masters to showcase their Macromedia skillz.

Flashy!

Flash is a multimedia technology that allows artists to make very small images that move and make sounds. This opens up a lot of opportunities to people who know how to use it and who have a creative streak. We have a number of excellent Flash animators working for us, and have been able to come up with a number of classics. This article will take you through the best of them. Click on any of the images below to launch the associated Flash movie.

Need Flash installed on your computer? Download it for free from Macromedia.

PlanetQuake

The Quake games are without a doubt one of the most popular series of games ever, and PlanetQuake is one of the cornerstones upon which the GameSpy Network has been built. PlanetQuake has gone through a number of changes since its initial creation, and many of those changes have involved a change in the way the site looks and operates. In December of last year we had the biggest revamp of the site in its history, making it easier for readers to get around and get the information they were looking for. The Flash movie below celebrated the relaunch and helped get the word out. It's one of my favorite Flash movies ever.

The Gaming Gourmet

The first of our Flash movies to feature art from Gabe of Penny Arcade fame, the Gaming Gourmet let us see a live action episode of everyone's favorite culinary artist at work. It even featured a guest appearance (and mauling) of PlanetHalfLife's Walter, of Walter's World fame. This was an ambitious project that took some time to create, but it was definitely worth it.
