EDGAR (Electronic Data Gathering Analysis and Retrieval), the SEC database of required corporate filings, enables its users to get today's up-to-the-second corporate information directly from the primary
source -- the filing company itself. All US companies are now filing electronically. Since May of 1996, the SEC will no longer accept any paper filings of most of its forms. Thus, the EDGAR database is the definitive repository of US corporate information.
