WRMR FORMAT MOVES TO

WCLV 1420 AM IN JULY

Salem Communications has entered into an agreement with

WCLV-FM, Cleveland's commercial classical music station,

to preserve WRMR's long-running nostalgia format of

American popular standards.  The launch of the format on

WCLV 1420 AM will happen on July 3rd.

Salem has been working hard to find a home for the format since

Salem decided to move its sports-talk programming to WRMR's

850 AM frequency.  "I'm thrilled this format is staying in Cleveland,"

said Errol Dengler, WRMR's General Manager.  "Listeners can now

enjoy this wonderful music and these fine on-air personalities for

years to come on WCLV 1420 AM."

WCLV President Robert Conrad plans to expand the format when it

moves to 1420.  "We won't simply preserve this existing format.  We

will add the early classic standards of Cole Porter, George Gershwin

and Irving Berlin, along with some Broadway show tunes and music

from film scores."

WCLV-FM's 38-year-old classical music format will continue to be heard

on 95.5 FM until the station's frequency changes to 104.9FM, also on July 3rd.

Last November, Conrad announced the gifting of WCLV'S FM station to the

new not-for-profit WCLV Foundation, assuring the preservation of classical

music on the radio in Northeast Ohio far into the new century.
