Tusk Bench The Tusk of the Dragon
Once upon a time although it seams like yesterday, we kids from the Finnern clan were playing deep in the Black Forest. When running around one of the big old trees we almost bumped into Schufu the last Black Forest dragon alive.

We froze instantly and stared with wide open eyes at this great animal. He was almost as big as our little home. He had wings to fly with, although currently he dragged them along in the dirt. Small puffs of smoke would come out of his nostrils and he would mutter a long terrible sigh. .

My brother Tom would be the first to recover and recognize that something was wrong with this beautiful fella. 'Hey, Dragon, why are you so sad?'

Only now Schufu would notice us kids. With an even louder sigh he would explain: "Oh I am in such a pain. A rotten tooth in my mouth is killing me. I don't know what to do and everyone else is running away from me in fear. Please relieve me."

You can't refuse the whish of a dragon especially when he is in pain. So he brought his head to the ground, opened his mouth and we climbed inside to inspect the bad tooth.

It was very hot and tough to breathe in the dragon's mouth. He also had to concentrate not to spit fire while we where inside his mouth. With his long tongue he showed us the way to the source of his pain.

We saw the rotten tooth and made a plan how to get it out. We found a long big rope that we put around the tooth and the biggest tree we could find. Schufu would run as fast as he could until the rope would straighten and pull out the tooth. And so we did.

He ran faster and faster, the rope would straighten and all in a sudden we would see a flame thrown into the air that seem to reach the stars. Then we heard a roar that hit us deep inside, a roar that made me wake up in the middle of the night for years to come, and the sound of a big body collapsing onto the forest floor, then silence.

We looked at each other and knew something went terribly wrong. Without even exchanging one word we were all running as fast as we could away from the scene.

But you can't outrun a dragon and so soon he caught up with us and roared:
"Thaaaaankkkk yyooouuuuu !!!!!" His wings were not dragging anymore and he had a big smile on his face. 'He is out, the tooth is not teasing me anymore.'

He was so glad to be out of pain that he gave us the tooth as a present and it brought us happiness ever since. Remembering this adventure our father has created the necklace which the replica of the dragon Schufu's tooth. You can buy it here.

Whenever I visit home I go out late in the night and Schufu comes by to take me for a ride on his back. And we fly over the magnificent Black Forest and the lights in the houses and on the streets look so nice from up there.
