Originally patented Jan. 19, 1869 by Samuel Ebenezer Leach
(and Elder) in Bangor, ME. It is fairly common but uses the unique and
recognizable design of a compound lever and was manufactured under license
by several makers. The sets that Leach himself manufactured usually show
the Leach name in gold paint on each side or the set.
