EMLL

(Arena Coliseo) Universo 2000/Cien Caras/Mascara Ano 2000 vs. Tinieblas Jr./VIllano III/Villano IV

Primera Caida- Well Tinieblas was trying to boogy to his theme song "That'sthe way I like it" but I guess the Capos don't like that song so they jumphim. Cien, Mascara Ano, Tinieblas, and Villano III spend most of this periodof brawling on the outside, while Villano IV and Universo 2000 take the ringfor themselves. The Capos eventually decide to just put the boots to VillanoIV instead of pinning him and get DQed for the first fall.

Segunda Caida-
The boring Capo offense continues for quite a bit until VillanoIV reverses a corner whip on Universo 2000.  The tecnicos then proceedto stomp down Cien Caras in the aisleway, getting the crowd way into thematch. Villano IV and Universo spill into the crowd, with IV knocking a rowof seats out of place and then slamming them on Universo 2000, showing thatold rudo spirit. They head back in the ring, and Villano IV makes him takea 'salida de bandera' to the floor and follows with a tope into the seats! Meanwhile, III and Tinieblas Jr. apply stereo abdominal stretches. Universo goes back in the ring first and successfully breaks both holds, but as he turns around Villano IV rolls him up with a huracanrana and gets the clean win. [.75] Not too bad. Universo vs. Villano IV was the story here and fortunately they are the best workers on their respective sides so the match kind ofworked. After the smoke clears IV issues a challenge for the World HeavyweightTitle, which Universo accepts.

They air a skit where Shocker hints there might be a new "Guapo" joiningthe team soon.

(Arena Mexico) Shocker/Bestia Salvaje/Scorpio Jr. vs.  Negro Casas/Hijo del Santo/Emilio Charles Jr.

Primera Caida-
The new guapo is supposed to be Emilio Charles so he spends this entire match avoiding entering the ring. The rudos get the jump on the tecnicos as they enter as a team from the ramp.  The crowd is really hot for all of the ensuing punishment by  the Guapos, though the rudos get most of the offense. Eventually Santito would dodge a Shocker clothesline and start a comeback for his team, in which Scorpio and Shocker end up out on the floor. Santo does a plancha to Shocker, and Negro Casas does a silla(running thesz press) off the apron.  This leaves Emilio Charles alone with Bestia Salvaje, and Charles starts up his usual "stomp my feet and no-sell" act, but when Bestia comes back with a third clothesline, he simply lays downand gives the rudos a quick pinfall!

Segunda Caida-
Shocker works the start of the fall against Santo, who fires back with his usual series of beautiful headscissors and armdrags.  Negro Casas then enters and does his usual series of... kicks.... and morekicks. Scorpio rolls out of the ring near the corner while Casas holds Shockerdown near the corner rope. Santo then does his tope atomico/ near cornertope suicida combo, taking out Scorpio in the aisle! Casas has Shocker stillheld and somehow turns it into La Casita for the pinfall! Shocker apparentlywasn't the captain though, leaving Casas to have to pin one more rudo.  He flips out of a Bestia Salvaje back bodydrop and does a reverse DDT, thenhooks on a Scorpion Deathlock.. but Emilio enters the ring and dropkicks Negro!!! The rudos go on a 3 on 2 beatdown of both tecnicos and then pin both Santo and Casas to win the match. [full point] A well-worked match with abasic, but effective storyline.  Post-match, Scorpio and Bestia invite Emilio Charles to the Guapos, but Shocker does not approve and leaves the ring. I guess Shocker won't be the leader of the Guapos soon.

Momentos Estelares-

Technique- Astro Rey with a missile dropkick
Innovation- Starman does a tope suicida while Sicodelico does a tornillo dive.
Plancha- El Veneno with a big splash off the top rope
Sensational- Someone new does a PERFECT 450!
Spectacular- Ricky Marvin with a no-hands tope con hilo!
Admirable- Zumbido with a gorgeous moonsault!

Someone sent Dr Wagner Jr. a large Atlantis poster to his office, pissing him off big time.

Dr Wagner Jr.(w/ SWEET Zebra mask) vs. Atlantis

Primera Caida- The way this fall starts is awesome! Wagner has a lookalike enter to his music and stand in the ring. Atlantis heads for the ring, figuring he will get a clean fight, but then Wagner sneaks up from behind him andjust demolishes him! After several post shots, choking with his coat, anda few slams on the ramp, the Evil Doctor rolls Atlantis back in the ring.He hits a dropkick to the face, clothesline in the corner, top-rope WagnerCutter, and then finishes the job with a mean-looking Ligerbomb!

Segunda Caida-
Atlantis fights back with a spinebuster, but Wagner is barelystunned and quickly applys an abodminal stretch. Atlantis fights to his feet, runs the ropes and hits a high crossbody, then they brawl outside into thecrowd. Atlantis must be pissed, because he snapmares Wagner on the ramp, drives his knee into his face, and then slams him down hard.  The tecnicosends  Wagner into the ring, and works over the back somemore with amonkey flip and quebradora, then applies the Atlantida and gets an easy submission.

Tercera Caida- Atlantis retains his advantage, now working over Wagner's face with a powerbomb to faceslam and flapjack. He applies the camel clutch, but Wagner powers out and does La Tapitia, however bridges it back into a pin when he sees Atlantis won't quit and gets a two count. Atlantis grabs his arms and does a double arm stretch as Wagner stands, but El Galeno quickly counters into an abdominal stretch, which Atlantis then reverses! An ab stretch cradle gets two, before Altantis applies a bow-and-arrow hold that Wagner has to use the ropes to break. Some mask ripping occurs and then Atlantis dropkicks Wagner to the floor and hits a tope!  They both try to make it in the ring first, but Wagner grabs hold of Altantis and posts him, then climbs on the apron and does a sommersault plancha.  Atlantis is the later to make it in the ring, so he tries a plancha but Wagner rolls through for a two count. Atlantis recovers quick and does a rana, but Wagner rolls through with that as well, and gets another nearfall. The Evil Doctor puts the Children's Idol on the top rope, and does a huge superplex, but getstoo cocky and misses a  big splash. Atlantis takes this time to get back to his feet, and wait for Wagner to charge him so he can apply La Atlantida, but Wagner flips over his shoulder, scoops him up and hits a Wagner Driver!!! Now for whatever reason, Doctor Wagner doesn't think that's enough, and does a figure four, but Atlantis rolls him up.... 1, 2, 3?!?!?![full point] Boooooo! Save the Bret Hart finishes for the Hart Asylum, please.  Still, jokes abut the weak finish aside, this was a very good match. Lots of nearfalls, and lots of heat for those nearfalls. It didn't really even get slow in spots like I thought it did first time I watched. I'd give it ***1/2 or so. Post match a mask match challenge is offered but I don't think that's gonna happen anytime soon.

AAA

Lady Apache and Esther Moreno vs. Demaladora and Martha Villalobos- Villalobos and Demaladora form the Womanhunters tag team. The gimmick basically involves them being fat, sloppy, and horrible. Much like the Headhunters. The Womanhunters squash(no pun intended) the tecnicas for a good five minutes before the Headhunters do a waddle in and splash Lady Apache on the floor. This allows the Womanhunters to pin Esther easily. [zilch] You don't know how much I hope AAA keeps true to form and kills this angle in less than one month.

Dos Caras, Parka Jr., Dos Caras Jr. vs. Texano, Pirata Morgan, Jerry Estrada-

Primera Caida- Much brawling by the rudos until Caras Jr. leapfrogs Jerry and the hits several quebradoras to get the tecnicos back into the match. Parka dances with Jerry. Caras Jr. serves up atomic drops that the rudos sell like they've seen a ghost, cracking up the announcers. Jerry ends up taking one of his bumps and then being on the bad end of a Parka plancha, while the Caras' roll up the rudos in the ring with Sunset Flips to get the fall.

Segunda Caida-
We join in progress some extreme rudo action, as the Consangrados serve up chair shots to all, especially working over Caras Sr's knee. The tecnicos never get the chance to fight back this fall as Caras Jr is pinned with a Pirata 360 elbow and Parka is forced to quit to an Estrada octopus hold.

Tercera Caida- As the ringside doctors bandage Caras Sr.'s knee, the rudos continue to punish Caras and Parka uninterrupted.  Caras Sr. apparently sees enough of this and hobbles back to the ring and fights on one leg to start some "Dos Caras" chants. This helps start a tecnico comeback until Pirata fouls Caras Sr. twice and gets disqualified. [.25] I didn't really care for the angle as it looked cheesy and beyond that this match wasn't very good at all. I guess one of the Caras' will be either getting a shot at Pirata's IWC(?) title or his hair soon enough.

Abismo Negro, Latin Lover, Mascara Segrada vs. Cibernetico, Headhunter A & Headhunter B(Cage Match)-
Cibernetico brings Tirantes a gift for being such a "good" referee, but Latin Lover doesn't like that and stomps whatever was in the box down.  The match is basically the same as any AAA cage match with these guys... early in Mascara Segrada blades and blades hard, turning much of his white suit red.   Abismo Negro is first out after taking one of the Headhunters back in the cage, followed by one of the Headhunters who gets over without any resistance.  Latin Lover and Segrada then almost make a double escape, but Cibernetico pulls Segrada back in while Latin walks free. Ciber uses some chair shots on Mascara Segrada, but misses and hits the Headhunter knocking him down for a bit. He then climbs up the cage followed close by Mascara Segrada, who gets up there a little late but instead of leaving, jumps off the top of the cage with a crossbody on the Headhunter!!!  The Headhunter gets a weapon from Cibernetico, and uses it to his advantage for a bit,  but Lady Apache runs in and throws something in his eyes as he tries to leave the cage! Segrada then gets a clear path to the cage top and almost slips climbing it, but makes it out  nonetheless to win the match. [full point] This was exactly like the Morelia cage match, but that cage match was good so I'll give the show the (needed) full point.

Overall: EMLL put on a strong show, with several good angles and two matches, one of which was good and the other was great. Plus the TV show had no commercials in the matches and no edits from what I can see, so it was very enjoyable to watch. AAA put out two weak matches and an ok cage match, so their good show streak unfortunatley ends at two.
