BASILAN, (ABS-CBN) -- Thirteen Abu Sayyaf child hostages were rescued by government troops on Wednesday afternoon in Lantawan town, this province.
Armed Forces chief-of-staff Angelo Reyes said the children were spotted in Lantawan, the town near Sumisip which was the site of the Abu Sayyaf's major stronghold, Camp Abdurajak.
The camp was overran by advancing government troops in military offensives that began last April 19. The children were among the 27 hostages dragged by the Abu Sayyaf with them as they escaped.
