"The new Napster" This is even better than napster. It is faster, it has more songs, and it has skins. I was looking for a lot of new filesharing programs everyday but this is the # 1 out. Even if napster comes back this is better. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

"It's not bad" Song Spy what can i say. It's not bad.It has it stroung points as well as weak points.First of all the bad thing about it is that you can't stop people from downloading from you. well that might not be bad but some times you just dont want to shear it slows down your down load.It does not look that good,when compaired to Kazza and all the rest..The searches are very quick and that is a big plus but the down load speed is the same as the rest.....it uses a default player so you can play your files in winamp or what ever you have at better quality.. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

"You people are ignorant sh!theads" You complain about not being able to play songs because there are no play/stop buttons. It opens your default media player to play the songs. You complain about getting disconnected. It's probably because you're downloading off a bastard little 10 yr old. You complain about it checkmarking all the files on your HD. It only does that if you ask it to. You complain about Spyware. It asks you whether you want to install it! If you don't understand how these things work, take your PC back to the store you bought it and get a refund. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

"Mp3 downloading has never been better." I've read most of the user opinions and see points to both negative comments and positive ones. Though I love this program and it has worked twice as good as Napster, it is not for people that do not understand a computer very well. Many of the negative comments have to do with the features in this program, however this has many more features than Napster...even going as far as skin-like backgrounds. Filesharing may be slow if you don't know what speed your connection is running at, I imagine this is where the complaints about the downloading time come from. Personally, I believe this much better than Napster and shall continue to use it everytime I'm looking for MP3's. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

"You guys are 'Tards" You guys complaining about the adware on SongSpy are complete idiots. Did you happen to notice the large screen during uninstall that asked for your permission. In order to get the adware installed on your computer you specifically had to click "yes." (Oh, and also, you can uninstall this software right from the Ad Remove Programs screen in Windows. No need to mess with registry settings.) By the way, how do you think these software developers are going to keep pumping out free software unless they find creative ways to pay for their developers? This stuff costs a lot of money to create, and I for one am glad that the folks at SongSpy are finding ways to stay in business and keep developing their software. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

"READ BEFORE INSTALL!!!" The new version of songspy is much better than before for downloading songs (more frequent connects, faster searching, etc.) however... there is a program called msbb.exe that is installed in c:windows by songspy. The little punks that wrote songspy thought it might be cool to have this program run when windows does. The program will popup an internet explorer window with an add in it every 10 minutes or so you are online. Very Annoying!!!! To disable the program, run "regedit" and go to HKCUsoftwaremicrosoftwindowscurrent version%0Dun and delete the "msbb" key. You can also delete msbb.exe in c:windows. "Its a better Napster alternative." It has a few good points and a few bad points. The good points are: the speed of transfers is generally faster, the people whom you download from aren't 13 year old idiots who think its fun to disconnect people in the middle of a 15mb transfer, and a wider variety of songs. Since Napster keeps having to alter the songs that are downloadable, a lot of songs get taken off accidently. The bad points are: It sometimes takes forever and a day to connect to the network. And the new XE version out has a crappy layout. I can barely read the font and it looks like the old Pine e-mail system instead of an up to date mp3 sharing network. Had they left the layout the way it was, it'd have been a lot better. Or at least make it optional to download the newer version. I can't say much for the skins. The button doesn't work. =P All in all its definately better than Napster. I get sick of the whining that Napster has on its home page these days. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

"It's not working!" I recently installed songspy on my computer and the results have not been succesful at all. The email address that I entered was that of a minor's and the personal information was for an adult. In that the information would not match up I felt it only neccessary to choose the option "I made up this information-tough luck"..or something of the sort. I dont know if that choice had seniority over entrance into the program, but I have not been able to enter songspy AT ALL. This venture has been very frustrating. I joined the program because I received word that it was very simple and much more diverse than napster. I would like the to receive successful results if that is possible. | |||||||||||||||||||

"Good program, but has some bad points...." Songspy is a really good music program. It is basically the same thing as napster, but dowloads are generally a lot faster. I also like the way the controls are set up for the music. Sometimes it takes forever to connect to the server though, or it doesn't connect at all. And sometimes when i start the program my music isnt displayed (i cant play it) so i have to restart the program. Otherwise, it is awesome, i like it much better than napster. I strongly recommend this product to you if you are looking for a good quality napster replacement. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

"What Idioits!!" This thing is TERRIBLE! Ever heard the phrase, never judge a book by its cover? Well this is a perfect example.. Everyone else was right.. Napster was way way better, it had more options, it provided more.. It was alot easier and was already more than sufficent for my needs... This thing may have 400,000+ files, but you can't get them! It dcs you in the middle of a transfere, then once you wait the 5 to 7 minutes for it to start up again, you have suddenly lost the files you had.. This thing is terrible, I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS PROG! It is a TOTAL waste of time and memory as is!! | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
