Indymedia is based on donated work by individuals. It is not a 'professional' organisation. Our servers are pretty good but with events such as Genoa, and now the attacks in the US, we are often not able to immediately keep up with the demand. As a consequence, published stories will sometimes NOT make it to the frontpage for up to 24 hours. This has nothing to do with us censoring but with the strain on the servers and the software. We know about our shortcomings and work on it. Please help us by not hitting the publish button a thousand times.

If you want to check if your story has made it to the wire click here and refresh AFTER you have uploaded your story. In 99% of cases it will be in the wire, even if it might take a few more hours to make it to the front page. If you really have problems with uploading (this can be the case especially with big files such as videos) then please contact us at imc-uk-tech@lists.indymedia.org.
